the last paragraph of the complaint cites N.C. Gen. Stat. 84-28(a) in addition to the NC Bar Rules...... § 84‑28. Discipline and disbarment. http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/HTML/BySection/Chapter_84/GS_84-28.html

You knew the answer to that question before you even asked it.
1. They were accused of raping an adult.
2. The accused were not ________(fill in the blank with your favorite minority)

Nifong will hold on to this case like his life depends on it. For the first time, I actually believe the judge will remove him from this case. The question is whether his replacement will be insane enough to carry on this outrage.

This news has made my day!!! Maybe justice will be done after all. I hope the "rich white boys" get a lot richer and the folks in Durham pay up for electing him!

Great news! But since lawyers are the ones charged with policing one of their own, it might only be a slap on the wrist.

Has the ACLU come to the defense of the accused? Isn't it their job to protect civil liberties?

Mike Nifong should do prison time. He is abusing power. His acts weaken the publics faith in an objective justice system. The one stripper who has made the accusation should be charged for her false accusations. It's interesting to note the other stripper wanted nothing to do with this. Why is the accuser now watering down her story?

Add to the "unethical" list, Duke University staff who supported Nifong, the NC NAACP, and the Drive By Media.

Some of the stuff supposedly bad strikes me as average bluster. The stuff about the evidence is funny--now. Well, you must understand that a prosecutor has enormous power to ruin lives. A prosecutor is trusted with the power. If he lies, withholds evidence, prejudices the jury pool, calls the defendants guilty for exercising their right to remain silent and have legal council, etc., he can destroy innocent people. I have never seen a prosecutor handle a case as Nifong has. It is a disgrace. If you think that is just average stuff ruining innocent lives, I suppose that is your prerogative.

Indeed. Isn't it interesting that they seem to have done a bit of a turnaround now that the impetus of the investigation is going against Nifong ... hmmm.
To: nhoward14
Also, the "or" in "dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation" waters down the overall charges.

The WSJ summed it up correctly this week. It was all about getting black votes for his reelection and the local hard leftists didn't bat an eye over railroading these kids.
