I could swear I read the results somewhere. It was something like 29% made up their minds they were guilty, and a slightly larger number said innocent. Does anyone else recall this?
If I was Cash, I would write something like this:
The black community should embrace the defense of the three Duke Lacrosse players.
What is that you say? This happens everyday to poor black men without the resources of these Duke families?
True, but it happens to poor whites, poor blacks, poor hispanics, poor anyone. "Poor" is the operative word. Legal fees being what they are, being "middle class" is no protection.
Because it happens to us we should not allow it to happen to anyone else. That is not justice. That is revenge.
This is a chance for change. We should not throw it away.
Does that race-baiting, hack "reporter" actually think Cheshire should turn his survey over to Cash? What a maroon!

"New information from the motion: we now understand why Mike Nifong so strenuously objected to the idea of polling. According to the defense poll, 3 in 5 prospective Durham jurors have already made up their mind about the case, divided almost evenly.
Around 31 percent are convinced a rape didn't occur; an incredible 28.5 percent of the county's population has determined that the accuser was definitely raped.
They need to save some of Saddam's rope for this assclown.
28.5 not 29? No wonder I couldn't find it. LOL
Thank you for the post. :)

The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys said Friday the prosecutor at the center of the Duke lacrosse sexual assault case should recuse himself.
The conference, which has no regulatory authority, is made up of all the state's elected district attorneys. The admonishment came one day after the North Carolina State Bar filed ethics charges against District Attorney Mike Nifong, accusing him of breaking four rules of professional conduct.

It was spring break. School was out.
From the article:
The conference said it had offered Nifong several different kinds of assistance in September, including additional assistant district attorneys and a practice jury. Nifong never responded to the offer, the group said.
Nifong just refuses to be saved. How many lifelines has this guy been thrown? This was an opportunity for him to get out while the gettin' was good. Of course, it could be Nifong knows his case is crappola and was too embarrassed to show it to a group of professional peers.
This is a counter-move to Nifong's dropping the rape charges. What it will accomplish is a means to get the DNA evidence in even though the rape charges have been dropped. It should fly because there are still sexual assault charges remaining.
"ezzebelle -I am way behind on keeping up with all of the posts, so bare with me."
:> *blush* :>
Agreed, the sexual assault charges are why Meehan's testimony remains relevant and important. Nifong, however, has never stated just what constituted the sexual assault. A Bill of Particulars is very important now. Do not be surprised if Nifong tries to argue that the sexual assault is with an object or some such that would not leave any DNA. Don't know how you get a sexual assault with no physical contact but I can absolutely see Nifong concocting some novel and ridiculous legal theory.
Nifong won't resign. He's a rat. They have no shame.
A pardon would have no effect on disbarment.
