When Clinton dies, CBS will go to a black screen and play mournful music.

Katie should just stay on vacation. She's earned it.

"We have contingency plans for these kinds of things and discuss them well in advance," said Bob Murphy, ABC News senior vice president. ...On cable, CNN's Anderson Cooper expanded his program by an hour to cover the story. MSNBC, which normally reruns its earlier evening fare from midnight to 2 a.m. EST, stayed with the story live for two hours. The author dares not utter the dreaded "F" word (Fox News). Never mind that Fox News has a greater viewership than its two 24-hour cable-news competitors combined, despite a bit of a disappointing year.

QVC has gone to full screen notices about Ford's death and that is NOT a news channel.
My wife was impressed. We should honor men who served their country.

..."It's a longer-term trend in which broadcast networks no longer see providing a record of major events as central to what they do," he said. "They leave that increasingly to cable." ...They're also leaving the viewers to cable.

CBS said Wednesday it is bringing Katie Couric home from an overseas vacation to anchor the "CBS Evening News" on Thursday and any ceremonies for Ford over the weekend.CBS is desperate to make their overpaid schoolgirl the center of attention. I had been trying to watch a different alphabet "news" broadcast every weeknight, in order to know mine enemies, but hers is unwatchable. Awful. It's not because she's a woman, it's because she's empty. Even her "perkiness" disappeared years ago. All I see is bitter, arrogant anger in her botoxed face.

When Castro dies, NBC/CBS will have him stuffed and lipover his dark silhouette from a dimly lit Habana cloister announcing his agreement and encouragement of anything the democratic socialist regiemes promote. He ain't no stinkin' Franco! (He might even have Che and Osama as talkshow guests ala weekend at Bernies!)

Maybe they could get Mike Tyson to fill in for Couric?
I think Mike Tyson might be fun to watch as an anchor man. I would tune in for a week or two. The ratings would double.
