In the forthcoming account, Woodward will address whether Ford made a deal with Richard Nixon to resign as president in return for the pardon Ford granted him on Sept. 8, 1974 for all federal crimes he had "committed or may have committed" when he was in the White House.Has there ever been a list of these supposed federal crimes Nixon is supposed to have committed?.. I am tired of hearing this claim when I have NEVER seen such crimes ever listed.

I just can't wait to hear the media flaunt over the latest in revisionist history!! Woodward will make a few million sensationalizing Fords legacy with a negative spin and get himself back on the "A" list for all the liberal socials with Babs, Hillary, Pelosi, Perky Katie, etc.
I do look forward to reading the book on Woodward.... written by a conservative after he's dead!!!

Bob Woodward is becoming the Cindy Sheehan of Watergate. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a true representation of the movies playing in his head.

Woodward the phony. He is so stuck on his narcissism he only sees and writes what he believes to be true and not what is true.
He became rich and famous taking notes from a disgruntled office seeeker-Mark Feldt--who didn't make it to the top of the FBI. Called him "deep throat" and created an aura for a tawdry man.
If Feldt had been an honest person he would have resigned if he could not remain loyal. What a travesty and what a joke he Woodward and Bernstein maintained for decades.
Woodward is notorious for giving verbatim dialog where none is possible. Think a dead Mr. Casey. Then think if you could record word for word without notes that someone said months, let alone years, ago.
He belongs with the Washington Post, Donald Graham, Warren Buffet and Melinda Gates as wannabe power players who have succeeded but now are about the fail big time. Woodward is going to dance on President Ford's grave and reputation to make a few more $ and a little more fame. I guess Watergate no longer pays.

Has there ever been a list of these supposed federal crimes Nixon is supposed to have committed? The articles of impeachment voted by the House Judiciary Committee included several, ranging from obstruction of justice to tax evasion.

Bernstein on TV trashing Ford today, now this!
Why would anyone believe a single word from either of these opportunists.
Particularly since Woodward has a history of communing with the dead.

The articles of impeachment voted by the House Judiciary Committee included several, ranging from obstruction of justice to tax evasion. Yes I am aware of that list of charges, but IIRC, there was not substantial evidence for those charges to have standing in a 'real' court of law. A liberal Congress maybe but not an actual trial. Also IIRC Hillry cut her political teeth helping to compose those articles, and even with the suggestion that Nixon should not have legal counsel.
It has been a while since I read anything Watergate so my memory may well be way off.

Lou Dobbs program was one of the few that had a Republican (Ed rollins) on to discuss Ford.Krudlow had Robert Dole. Chrissy had Andrea Mitchell and FNC had (barf) Carl Bernstein.

Right. I would think the VP who was in the Cabinet meetings etc would know a tad more about what went on than a leftist reporter.

As luck would have it, President Ford dies JUST AS Woodward's lies, er, rather, important historical work is ready for publication!
Mirabile dictu! Deus ex machina! And all that jazz....
To: onyx
Woodward had better have it on tape or it's a made up story.

Exactly so --- and the tape had best not be altered or missing 13 minutes. :)

Yes. That IS the million dollar question: Why WOULD any conservative even agree to meet with him? He must be one hell of a salesman in person or something.
You know what really irritates me? Is to hear the newscasters talk about President Ford and how he was sometimes ridiculed for his stumbles.
They ALL talk about it as if it were someone ELSE who had done the ridiculing, not THEM...boy that sure does irritate me.
