My favorite part of a recent visit to my pharmacy was needing to provide picture ID for a box of Cold Formula Advil, but not for the Rx I was getting refilled. Prednisone and hydrocodone!
And I'm pretty sure that I violated at least state, and probably federal law the other day... One of my co-workers was complaining of a terrible sinus headache, so I gave her one of my Cold Formula Advils when she asked for one!

for some folks,EVERYDAY is METH AWARENESS DAY!
It's absolutely insane.
While going to the doctor for a script is not needed in Maryland or Virginia, going to a pharmacy is. From where I live in VA, the nearest pharmacy is in Maryland. Granted I can get it in Va, but why should I have to drive 30 miles to a VA pharmacy, when I can go 14 miles to the WalMart pharmacy in MD.
I don't envy you folks in Oregon, not one bit.
It is just ludicrous that the government puts people into the position of bragging about having "pre-ban" cold medicine. It's sort of like saying, "oh look, I have a few pairs of pre-ban socks". It's as idiotic as the concept of "pre-ban magazines". Why is there a ban at all? (That's rhetorical.)
Well said and worth repeating. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah & Happy New Year!
I could have a 70 inch Sony LCD HDTV for those 8 boxes. Even if they're a few years old.
But before they do I'd like to propose a "Government Get out of my Business Awareness Day."
...perhaps on Dec. 15 (Bill of Rights Day).
And these innocent people face up to 20 years in prison -- far more time than many violent criminals get.
The so-called justice system is turned completely upside-down.
Same thing happened to me last week. My son got a nasty cold/flu congestion problem, and he then gave it to me and his grandparents. I went to WAL-M@RT to buy me some effective decon. stuff, the other ingredient they use in the new formula's gives me a headache. Since the pharmacy was closed I couldn't get it. Earlier in the week I went to the CV$ pharmacy to buy my some cold medicine also for my #1 son. I bought the children's version of the old stuff, and the new formulation also. I had to fill out the paperwork and give my name and prisoner #......I asked the pharmacist what the rules were and he reluctantly told me 2.4grams per month. If you do the math thats the recommended adult dosage for 10 days, if you always take it every 6 hours (not ever in 4 hrs which the childrens package says is OK). Better not have more than 1 person in your family sick.......if you are the one doing the shopping. KNOCK, KNOCK. I guarantee most of our households have some amount of all the ingredients needed.
And BTW the new stuff doesn't work as well for my son either. Not a good situation, no answers, and I felt like a criminal for trying to get more than 2 hrs (total) of sleep.

Hey, hey, good lookin,
What ya gotta cookin'?
How 'bout cookin' sumpin up with me?
Think I should call a federal government policeman?
You can't go through the self check out at Home depot with razor blades and a cans of spray paint either. My husband was at Home Depot getting stuff to scrape and paint rusty outside rails when the Home Depot police came down on him. He was shocked. He had other items too but they just ripped into him. Granted he is a biker and looks nasty but there was no call to jump all over him. I think the problem with the cold meds stems from teens going from store to store to buy them to make the speed. I don't think this has anything to do with the meth lab problem. Its the teens and adults who are trying to make their own stuff up which can be very dangerous. I don't like the law but I don't like seeing what this stuff does to people either. Home Depot wants your license etc if you buy cans of spray paint. We don't shop there anymore because he got so mad he got banned from Home Depot.
Ya mean, like, last month?
DAMN!! I missed it!
Now I'll have to wait another year to kick my meth habit.
On a more serious note, go take a look here. A shame.
I drank a bottle of Nyquil. How a bout you?

This is what is so STUPID about the whole thing! Once again, good honest people are punished & inconvenienced because of a few idiots!
Where I work, the crack-heads & meth-queens just stand out on the street corner selling it & looking for it - it's as obvious as day to me - why can't law enforcement figure that out? It's really not like these addicts look just like "regular working folk". They LOOK like the walking dead!
This is why I use lemon juice, bourbon or brandy and Soda pop. Besides, at my age I don't have to show an ID. Unfortunatly, I live in a dry county so must make a run to the state or county line ever so often.
Right now I have some Hot Damn in a sealed bottle just for emergencies but a hot toddie ever so often helps keep the chills away.
How are they dumb? They got the arrest and slam dunk case for conviction of the clerks for "knowingly violating the LAW"
Judging by the snarky comments, a lot of people don't think methamphetamine abuse is a big deal. So, what should the people do, about the crankers buying the ingredients in the grocery store?
Kill them! Make sales, possession, and being under the influence of methamphetamine or any of its analogs a capital crime: No appeals, done on the street corner by the local cop. Sure, you'd have a few who would "make bad choices" but at least YOU wouldn't be inconvenienced at the Wal-Mart.
When I got mugged by a druggie I was mad at him, and I went downtown and looked at mug shots. I couldn't make an ID, and I never heard from the detective again. Now I have to show my driver's license and sign a log to buy a limited amount of an effective decongestant.
I can't help wishing that drug addicts could buy recreational drugs less horrific than PCP and meth at low prices, rather than watching civil liberties decrease during each cycle of a "new" drug. First some ingenious person discovers a new way to create something to get people high. Then the law tries to get everyone hysterical about it by exaggerating the effects and the harm. Naturally this increases demand. The stakes get higher, and there are gang killings and criminal profits soar. It takes more and more investment to make the drug or import it from Mexico and South America. The corruption rises to the highest levels. Then something new comes along, but the previous drug never goes away.
I am completely convinced that big time criminals invest a lot of money promoting the "War on Drugs."
