Yes, I'm aware it's Sanford & Son. I was envisioning a kind of "heavenly re-union" of the stars of these excellent TV sitcoms that showcased some of the best black talent to a national audience.

It must be especially difficult for you, as many of your castmates have passed on - Ms. Roker, Mr. Cover, Ms. Sanford in particular. I remember watching both you and Mike as Lionel, when I was young (I'm almost 40) and I enjoyed you both tremendously. I always wondered if it was one of those Darin York/Darrin Sargent things from "Bewitched"...whatever happened, I'm glad you were part of the show.
And I am certainly glad that you are here. Please continue to join us, and offer your opinions about whatever is on your mind. If you don't mind my asking, what drew you to Free Republic? Welcome to FR. So sorry for your loss.
But not definitive. My mother in law had it, and she hasn't smoked a day in her life. She had a laryngectomy back in the 1980s. She's still going strong, although is somewhat tired from caring for her husband, who is in really bad shape from a series of micro strokes.
She worked hard and learned to talk again, using epilglottal speech. You can even understand her on the phone. We are all so proud of her.
