Netanyahu slams PM's passivity in face of Kassams
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu took aim at Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday evening during a Likud Hanukka candle-lighting ceremony in Or Yehuda, criticizing the prime minister for his passivity in the face of ongoing Kassam rocket attacks.
"A leader needs to be an active authority, not a passive one - not [one of] restraint and inaction," Netanyahu declared, calling for Olmert to let the IDF do its job.
Earlier, Olmert rejected Defense Minister Amir Peretz's call for a "limit" to Israel's restraint, affirming that Israel would maintain its current restraint policy despite the continuing Kassam attacks on the country.

Bibi needs to be PM. I also like Moshe Ya'alon. Olmerde has got to go!
Makes no difference but "liberal" is a fighting word in my house! LOL!
I read them over 30 years ago. And loved them. I've been keeping an eye out for them when I see used books. I've found The Lion of God and Dear and Glorious Physician.
I read Ayn Rand aboutt he same time. Taylor Caldwell was so much saner, and a much more talented writer. Her research was amazing.
Even Livni (a lady who seems to have guts and a lot of integrity, even if I don't always agree with her stances) says restraint is causing a problem.
You can throw just about anything my way. I've made a life out of sarcasm (too bad it doesn't pay well!)! My wife always asks if I can take much of anything seriously to which I usually reply with, "Surely, you can't be serious?" Loved Leslie Nielson in that role. Anyway, I am shutting it down for the day but will try to get on tomorrow a little earlier. Have a good one!
Radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has agreed to allow his supporters to go back to their positions in the Iraqi government after a three-week boycott to protest the Iraqi prime minister's meeting with US President George W. Bush, three officials close to the militia leader said late Thursday.
Al-Sadr's loyalists walked out of their positions in parliament and the Cabinet after Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met Bush in Jordan three weeks ago.
Shi'ites from the Iraqi parliament's largest bloc, the United Iraqi Alliance, were meeting Thursday in the holy city of Najaf, as part of a plan to persuade the anti-American cleric to persuade the anti-American militia leader to rejoin the political process and rein in his fighters.

How about a "rap" name, UB83!!! LOL
I have a lot of hardback books that I packed away years ago....I was just thinking I might check those boxes out..because I might just have the book in there.
I have donated a lot of my books, both hardback and paperback to the library...but, the books that I LOVED, and I knew I would want to reread, I have kept.
I am good today...the itty bitty one just went to sleep for her nap, so I have a little time to read and post.
I have been on the thread about the charges coming down today re: Haditha.
So far they have charged the person in charge with murder, and 4 of the other Marines....the other 4 Marines have been charged with "other charges"...
I just have a HARD time with this case...I jumped in with both feet defending them when the story first came out..and a lot of freepers and Statasphere had links and stories about how bogus these charges would be...
But, then the Hamadiya(sp) rape case came up..and the troops in that case pled out..when I couldn't imagine them doing what happened in that case (rape)...
I just really want to read all of the evidence in this case...
Anyway..other than getting all involved in that...I am having an enjoyable day.
I hope your headache is better...was it a migraine??
I remember the Captain and the Kings very well...both book and mini-series.
And yes, I love historical novels. Been devouring them since I was a kid.
I forgot that they had turned it into a mini series.
BBL Gonna go bake and decorate cookies with one of my sewing groups... ;-)
I'll be flying on sugar tonight! LOL
