Another complimentary BUMPO! Sort of turns the usual reportage on its head, doesn't it?

A few years ago we were saying that the old media is dead and their influence is negligible. Now, following the election and waning support for the war in Iraq, it seems those pronouncements were wishful thinking.

It proves that you needn't lie to distort the news, which makes me wonder why the MSM can't seem to resist the temptation.

A few years ago we were saying that the old media is dead and their influence is negligible it takes about 20 years (approx one generation) to change institutions; the MSM drive-bys will go along for another 15-20 years just because they will not want to change what they are doing even if they are losing money.

Excellent Point and comparison! It would be fun to have a site that takes daily headlines from various news media and replicate it for California side by side over a period of three years and then see how many will be making their way out here (to CA). Heck all of America that reads this new site I am imagining may want to saw the state off from the rest of the country to stop further infection (IF THEY DON'T ALREADY :-) I speak as a Californian.

When will the time come when the old media reports bad news from Iraq and California with the same intensity? When Iraq lost.

Terrorist Media PING
Imagine what the outlook towards California would be around the United States and the world if the press reported accurately as follows: Day 1 Headlines: 15 MURDERS OVER THE WEEKEND
Day 2 Headlines: 360 ASSAULTS YESTERDAY IN CALIFORNIA; 6 MORE MURDERS
Day 3 Headlines: OVER 16,000 VIOLENT ASSAULTS AND ROBBERIES IN NOVEMBER; NO END IN SIGHT
Day 4 Headlines: RAPES REPORTED IN CALIFORNIA FOR OCTOBER UPDATED TO OVER 800
Day 5 Headlines: ANOTHER $600 MILLION SPENT LAST MONTH TO HOUSE CALIFONIA CRIMINALS
Day 6 Headlines: FOR 30th MONTH IN A ROW, OVER 330 CALIFORNIANS KILLED ON HIGHWAYS
Day 7 Special Report: CALIFORNIA HAS HIGHER INMATE POPULATION THAN GERMANY, FRANCE, THE NETHERLANDS, AND SINGAPORE COMBINED...
Believe me, this type of accurate reporting could go on day after day. Every year, over 4,000 Californians die in car accidents--approximately six times the average death rate of military personnel in Iraq. And, California technically is not a war-zone. The media asks the question why our military cannot stop the infiltration of insurgents from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Syria into the Iraq theater. Yet, between 3-5 million foreigners have sneaked into California illegally in recent years.

More people died of car accidents last year in the US than died in any year of the Vietnam War, almost as many as were killed by enemy fire in the whole war. That didn't mean that Vietnam wasn't a real war.
I don't know what conclusion to draw about Iraq, but I don't think your writer is playing with a full deck. Not to distinguish between politically-inspired murder on the one hand and accidental deaths or non-political homicides on the other is stupid.
