Rest in Peace Lamar. A true gentleman of sports and a man of vision is gone. The earth is a little bit colder after his passing.

From what I've seen, Al Davis is not long for this world. He is going downhill fast. He's a shadow of his formal self.

Hunt, along with Tex Schramm made the NFL what it is today.

I'll never forget when Lamar bought the chiefs. Reporters asked his dad if he was worried given that the chiefs were losing about 2 million a year. The old man told them that yes he was worried, at that pace Lamar would be broke in about 200 years.

I still remember watching the old films. The way the AFL changed the makeup when the merger happened. Offenses took off, no more halfback left, halfback right, QB up the middle.

LOL! I liked the old man. I have a book here somewhere about the men who started the AFC. Can't recall its title... but I've read it twice. :)

The old man almost ruined the silver market at one time. He was ruthless.

Yep, best quote I've ever heard. Someone in Texas told me once that the TV show "Dallas" was loosely based on the Hunt family. Whether or not that's true I have no idea but it makes a good story.

I remember that. "Ruthless" is the perfect word for him.

As mean and cantankerous as Al Davis is, he will probably live forever.
