Not being smart or a wiseass, but should everyone be offended by everything?

Sure.

You have to be offended and some sort of minority (remember: everyone's a minority in something) to get a lawyer to take your case on contingency.

Sue, Sue, Sue, Sue. The new American song.

But nobody has a sense of humor any more. I can't even joke about Texas Aggies.

People from New York have to know that it was just this kind of "joke" that did in Senator Alfonse D'Amato (joking about Judge Lance Ito on the radio in 1995, followed by "putz-head" in 1996) and gave us Senator Chuck Schumer.

To be really funny Rosie would have to drop dead during one of her rants on "The View".

Hey Rosie! It ain't funny no more

Doesn't the phrase 'no more' imply that at one time she WAS funny?

As a Texan, you have my special dispensation, allowing you to joke about Texas Aggies. Lord knows most of us do.

Q: Why would the Texas Aggie never let his wife on top during sex?
A: Becaise the first thing he learned in the Cadet Corps was to never screw up!

From "Hey, Rosie O'Donnell: Did you teach your kids to speak "ching chong," too?" by Michelle Malkin
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1750645/posts

Michelle Malkin reports that Rosie O'Donnell sounds like this:

"Oink oink oink homophobe oink grunt snort Kelly Ripa oink oink I hate Bush oink oink The View oink snort oink."

What I don't understand is how that waste of good air time was ever allowed to be on the Rosie show, formerly known as the View in the first place. I seems that I misjudged Ms Walters et al, I thought they had a small amount of sense, I guess I was wrong. I think that we need a male version of the View.......

Someone should dunk the cow in A-1 and drop her over North Korea. She would be reduced to bones in seconds.

We sure are facinated with Rosey. There are loads of actors in Hollywood, but Rosey seems to be the most popular for FREEPERS. To me, she is pretty insignificant.

"Why Bubbie Walters puts up with Rosie's coarse and irritating behavior on that show is a mystery to me."

- Like you, I thought Walters had more class, but the shows ratings are up and, in the end, to explain Rosie's continued tenure you gotta follow the money.
If the ratings falter, you can be sure the knives will come out real quick.

This may surprise a lot of folks here, but I'm siding with Rosie on this one. I think that PC has gone way beyond what is healthy.

That said...we are all different. And the ones who have it right, imho are the youngest of children who have no fear in exploring our differences.

I will never forget my daughter's first day of preschool. While sitting in a group on the floor, a little boy caught the attention of my causasian daughter, and vice versa. My daughter evidently was fascinated by the shape of this Asian boy's eyes. In no time at all, my daughter lifted her tiny fingers to her eyes, and began stretching them out to a squint.

At the first break in the day, my daughter went over to the little boy and asked him if his eyes hurt (stretching her eyes again in demonstration) "doing this all day." The boy's reply was "Not at all...Why? (grabbing his eyelids and pushing them upwards) Do yours hurt doing this all day?"

Both kiddos laughed and became really great friends. And over the next year, both often tried to challenge the other to "sound" Vietnamese and caucasian.

I am so tired of this PC stuff. Personally, I would rather share a laugh about my differences than never talk about them at all.

""Michael Richards -- doing a standup routine at a comedy club. Offends people. WHAT? YOU GONNA TELL ME HE WAS TRYING TO BE FUNNY???? THAT'S NO EXCUSE!! THAT MAN IS RACIST!!!!""...

I get your point but that is a crappy example. How about Trent Lott says at Strom Thurmond's 100th birthday party "if you had won when you ran for president we wouldn't be having all of these troubles today." And THAT is somehow construed as racist.

Or stupid people get confused by a butterfly ballot and THAT is somehow racist? Or a hurricaine blows into town and THAT is somehow racist. etc etc.

I have always thought that most Americans have respect for Asian culture and Americans of Asian descent.

You are correct. The problem is that about 10-20% of the US people are racist a-holes and as one goes about your daily life, there is no avoiding them.
