An investigation into Nifong's conduct is long overdue, but totally welcome, nonetheless.
You know, we knew most of this, but it's just unbelieveable to hear it again out loud.
What a travesty.
I do so hope that the defense lawyers are planning a massive civil suit against this odious DA.
One attorney on FNC said that Gov. Easley should appoint someone else to investigate. Do you think he will?
All along the defense has been given to believe that only one DNA specimen was in her, that of her boyfriend. Now we find out that Mangum had multiple partners and lied about it, stating she hadn't had intercourse for a week.
Now, why did she lie?
sw
And I continue to mute that hairless man with the big mouth who was just on FOX.....he disgusts me!
*Blink*
I am livid.
Emphasis w/ the *** mine.
The 'failed to report' makes me wonder if Nifong knew about this from the get-go in April, or later and just sat on it until October. May not matter, since the discovery came from the DA, they clearly had the info, whether they realized it or not, since the report was issued...
This man should be kicked out of his office. He deserves whatever happens to him.
It's hard to say, but probably not. Gonzales won't want to be seen as showing favoritism to whitey, which is what he'd be accused of if he were to launch an investigation now. On the other hand, the administration is on its way out and really has nothing to lose, especially with the next election two years away.
Seeking indictments based on the trumped up identification that Liefong engineered might get them there because that alone was a civil rights violation - the seeking of indictments based on it. Certainly there was enough wrong about the identification process to warrant a look at it and, if that was wrong, then seeking the indictments was wrong.
where did you get the hershey highway address, spectre?
Nifong needs to be arrested NOW !
Just getting on the thread. Watched Shep Smith report that the woman insisted she hadn't had sex with anyone in a week. However, there were multiple DNA samples from men and none were from the LAX players or her boyfriend.
On April 8, 9 and 10, DNA Security found DNA from multiple males on the panties and rectal swab from the rape kit; none matched the lacrosse players.
So she's multilingual!
And then there's this...
On April 10, Meehan met in his office with Nifong and the two lead investigators in the case, Sgt. Mark Gottlieb and Investigator Benjamin Himan.
But Meehan failed to tell them about the extra visitors to both addresses?
Just when you think you can't get any madder about this case. I want my perp walk picture.
Thanks for the ping!

He won't appoint anyone. It's not politically expedient for him to do so. It all has to do with the color and status of the victims, meaning the lax boys, and the fact that he's the one who appointed Liefong based on Jim Hardin's recommendation which supposedly was made based solely on Liefong's seniority in the office.
My initial response was going to be NO WAY. But then I remembered an article in todays paper that said Easley has decided not to run for any office when the leaves the governor's mansion in 2008. I've heard for a long time he was looking at either DC or the state house in the near future. Wonder if something's up? Maybe it's about to hit the fan & he's expecting some splatter.
Remember the press conference on the steps late one Friday afternoon when Bill Cheshire said NO DUKE PLAYERS were implicated by the DNA?
Remember that Nifong came out the next week and said that the Defense was just spinning the results or didn't know what they were talking about?
What I wonder is if this information was given to the Grand Jury.
He is quite the liar. I think he had it all along and buried it.
