Gee, you flipped EARLY.....
"Over 6 million people were killed during the Holocaust. The group of children at the concentration camp Auschwitz seen here was liberated in January 1945 by Soviet troops."
--
True, in that 6 ~million Jews were part of the total ~12 million "people" killed outright as a result of the pogroms / organized genocide.
~6 million Jews? That leaves roughly the same number of Jehovahs Witnesses, Catholics, "other Christians," "Gypsies," persons of mixed race, homosexuals, criminals, idiots, "handicapped," "dissidents and malcontents," and anyone else deemed "unfit. . . ."
Find a copy of Treblinka (http://www.amazon.com/Treblinka-Jean-Francois-Steiner/dp/0452011248) by Jean-Francois Steiner and Terrence Des Pres, and then read for content and deep understanding the chapter that deals with Eichman and his toadies study of which bodies burned hottest and longestand why this knowledge proved for them absolutely critical to the implementation of The Final Solution.
Until then, have a look at the table below from Wiesenthals Website. Look at the figures and imagine what it would be like to have 9 out of every 10 Methodists killed in Indiana (% of Polish Jews killed), or 7 out of every 10 Baptists killed in Tennessee (% of Dutch Jews killed), or 8 out of every 10 Mormons killed in Utah (% of respective Yugoslavian, Slovakian, Lithuanian, Latvian, and Greek Jews killed).

Look at the chart and the numbers circa September 1939, the numbers murdered, and the percentages post-war. Picture a full third, half, three-quarters and more of your entire family, neighborhood, city . . . gone. Unfathomable to us.

For it is not simply that the denial or playing down of the Holocaust will, as Amos Oz, the liberal Israeli writer, said, be received with revulsion and disgust everywhere in the world; it makes the terrible mistake of justifying criticism of Israel by denying the historical fact so crucial to the states founding. The more thoughtful Palestinians have already understood that the refusal to acknowledge the wartime persecution of the Jews gives credibility to the assertion that critics of Israel are motivated by anti-Semitism. Irans President simply proves the point. He has labeled Israel a tumour that should be wiped from the face of the Earth.
Mr Mottaki has revealed the real intention. If the official version of the Holocaust is thrown into doubt, then the identity and nature of Israel will be thrown into doubt. With such crass statements from their supporters, the Palestinians must worry that their case will never be understood. In fact, the truth or otherwise of the Holocaust is of no concern to Iranian hardliners. They are using the issue because of its emotive value in Israel, Europe and especially in the US. Nor is the timing coincidental. The hardliners are determined to rally domestic support for their defiance on the nuclear issue and to sabotage any dialogue with America on Iraq. What better way to achieve isolation than to deny one of the most shameful events in Western history?

What is it going to take? Our generations Ike walking the indifferent innocents past the rows of emaciated bodies, human skin lampshades, the piles of shoes, hair, and gold teeth?
Eisenhowers complicit innocents took their walk after the fact. It was a moot point; the damage was done. He feared that the scope and breadth of the horror was so great that popular denial was certain, unless those who had turned a blind eye and deaf ear to what had gone on all around them for years were made to face the fruits of their indifference. The hope was. . . .
We are looking the same devil straight in the eye and he is not blinking. When the devil calls the tune it is not enough to say, I will not dance. If you are there, you are there and, as the Man said, If you are not for me, you are against me.
Well, wallflowers? The band is playing. Where do you stand?
It is 10 minutes until midnight. WAKE UP!
"Oh my KK, 1600 mg of Motrin (Ibuprofin) is 2x the maximum recommended single dose. You may feel better, but it's not good for the gastrointestinal tract (bleeding) or kidneys.
Please stay within the recommended dosage range, OK, KK?"
Thanks, WW... they are prescription 800 mg capsules... I asked the doctor about taking 2 with big pain and he said it was fine as long as I don't have kidney or liver problems, which I don't, and I don't do it every day... which I don't. The pain from my tooth should be gone by tomorrow (I pray) so I won't be taking them any more.
Aspirin would have taken the pain away already, but I can't take that, it KILLS my stomach.
{{{hugs}}} Appreciate your caring!
Woo woo!
As Jennie Rae would say, "That's one hot tamale!"
I'm pretty sure Hizbullah is in Southern California ... they turned out to "counter protest" the Support Israel Rally this past July.
Happy birthday, Uncle Ike! Big party in the cave tonite?
