A Middle East analyst who was involved in the Iraq Study Group discussions but did not participate in drafting the report expressed surprise when the reference was pointed out to him by a reporter.
"It's hard to know whether that language got in there because of carelessness -- I know there were many revisions up to the very last minute -- or whether it was a deliberate attempt to fuse something to the Bush rhetoric which wasn't there before," the analyst said. I wish they'd give names to these analyst's .. because something smells

"Do not forget that Baker's firm is representing the Saudi Regime AGAINST the families of victims of 9/11 in their lawsuit."
WHAT? Do you have an article about this? It would make for some very interesting reading.

I haven't seen the report yet, was it written in French?

Don't leave it at Baker. Incoming SecDef Gates was on the commission and helped write the report. Who do you think is now setting US Middle East policy? No .. he helped with the study .. but left before the report was written

God works in mysterious ways. And now the Democrat victory is explained.
The Democrats are positioned to come- and the leadership will come- to Israel's defense against Israel's Best Friend Ever® and his best friends.

Remember, all can be answered by "following the money"; clearly, it's all about the money going into Baker's pocket.

The concept of the "Right of Return" is quite simply Israel ceasing to exist.

No .. he helped with the study .. but left before the report was writtenYou really believe that? He left less than a month ago. The commission didn't hammer out a 142 page report in a month.

And then there was Secretary of State James Baker's infamous "fuck the Jews" remark. In a private conversation with a colleague about Israel, Baker reportedly uttered the vulgarity, noting that Jews "didn't vote for us anyway."And he is still right about that , after all these years. - tom

I'm telling you what I expect. I choose to remain optimistic on W until it becomes impossible to do so.
If he cuts-n-runs, then it's the real deal. Right now, it's potentially just a bunch of public garbage to placate the maximum morons in congress.

They are all obsolescent and need to be scrapped. And again, what about Committee Member Robert Gates, who resigned less than a month ago so he could serve as Secretary of Defense? He helped author this nonsense.

Arabist Baker is a modern time Henry Clay akin to the Compromise of 1850. The War will happen soon.

Not only those states, but Utah, Colorado, Nevada and parts of Wyoming.
Commission report is absolutely abhorrent: not only it advocates bribing our enemies by crippling (and possibly destroying) another country (Israel), but it also, along the way, presents this futile idiotism as a perfectly legitimate political solution.
Does Mr. Baker ever think more than one step ahead? Does he remember how well Czechoslovakia'38 played for "peace in our time"?

To be honest I don't know what to think anymore
All I know is that he was involved with the study group .. but he wasn't around for the final report
It would be nice of all the anonymous source would stop hiding and put their names to these stories ... it would make it easier to follow up on what is fact and what is not

It was just explained on FOX that Baker constructed the panel with people who had no "expertise" in the area and for all purposes, he is the author.
