yes. americans jews didn't "vote for this" specifically, but 87% of them don't consider support for israel as one of their voting issues.
conservatives don't support israel as a domestic political issue - we support israel because is the right thing to do.
This is a complete outrage! Decent people should have nothing to do with Baker and his proposal.
Maybe Baker should ask Neville Chamberlain how that "talking to our enemies" thing worked out for him.
How about the US striking a deal without Wahabi Lobby pressure for a change?
James Baker, the slithery, slimey snake is shrewd enough to try to offer the terrorists and Arab countries what they really want - the elimination of Israel.
How about a debate on US issues without any Dems?
(Gen 12:1 KJV) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee:
(Gen 12:2 KJV) And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
(Gen 12:3 KJV) And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Baker will get the U.S. Judged, he needs to be silenced immdiately.
Is this 'THE' Peace Agreement?
You forgot the last part of the Baker Doctrine:
"And collect a nice paycheck from said enemies to do so."
The Truth Laid Bear has the Iraq Study Group document in linkable form. The sections dealing with Israel are especially troubling, but not surprising given Baker’s history. All these recommendations stem from a basis of complete fantasy, in which Israel’s Arab neighbors are genuinely interested in peace and all we have to do to get it is ask them the right way.
It proposes that Israel return the Golan Heights to Syria, and pull back to its 1967 borders.
Iraq Study Group: Selling Israel Down the RiverRECOMMENDATION 16: In exchange for these actions and in the context of a full and secure peace agreement, the Israelis should return the Golan Heights, with a U.S. security guarantee for Israel that could include an international force on the border, including U.S. troops if requested by both parties.
RECOMMENDATION 17: Concerning the Palestinian issue, elements of that negotiated peace should include:
* Adherence to UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 and to the principle of land for peace, which are the only bases for achieving peace.

Sorry..I posted it 3 times.
History is awash with fools who thought they could make nice with their enemies.
Chamberlain - "Peace in our time."
Hitler - "Our enemies are little worms, I saw them in Munich."
Yes, standing by Israel is an important issue for many, including me. But it is also a genuinely conservative issue not to behave with weakness toward our announced enemies. Especially not the Arabs, who are extremely quick to exploit weakness. It's their main game.
I haven't been able to see that we really had a strategy at all the last couple years. Which might be the problem.
Fine with me. I've been complaining about a Saudi lawyer acting on behalf of the US government for a couple years, since he first became in Iraqi reconstruction (Anyone remember that?)
With illegal aliens, I believe the genie is already out of the bottle on that one.
My faith in the leaders in this country has never been so low from Bush to the paper pushers who work for them in both houses.
That's okay. I just thought the study group offered three different versions of the truth.
