My intellect is nothing fancy, neither superior nor inferior - just good old-fashioned clear thinking {it's worth looking into} which your fault-finding will not affect, "for the record". Your posts seem to indicate a baselessly self-aggrandizing minority of one, based upon the six or seven private messages I received from different observers who have posted on this thread...of course this might be wrong.

But, OTOH, you gave us a laugh...

Care to be 'Democratic' and take a poll about it? Then we could both whine and "spew" about the results?

"He's not getting the mental health, the schooling. He's not getting anything, anything but locked in a cell all day long," Lori Messner [his mother] said.

Wow, that's rough. I'm all torn up about it. Really.

* roll eyes *

I don't have much time to spend online tonight so don't read anything into my silence on this matter.

However, I am here to confirm for the record, I was one of those who had FReepmailed AAC yesterday regarding this thread.

I thought it was rather woman-like to immediately deduce from AAC's post about Son of Sam that AAC was advocating letting the guy go free. That kind of leap in illogic is typical of females. I am shocked to discover that it was made by an airplane driver!

I almost replied at the time, but passed.

Tookie Williams -- remember him? The creep said he'd repented and wanted to do good and deserved to be let free. The whole point is that a truly redeemed soul would never ask for, nor expect, to have the sentence rescinded.

Nor would AAC (or I) have, either. The opposite, in fact. I'd be outraged if they let Son of Sam go. It would be wrong.

But here's the thing. It's also wrong to take revenge. It's frustrating, but it's one of the rules if we want to be civilized.

I expect the thing that AAC believes, as I do, is that it's kind of cool to know that some poor son of a bitch so cold-hearted that he'd kill without remorse, dies understanding in his heart the evil that he did and truly repenting it because he comes to understand love. He's touched God, and he dies with salvation. It's a refreshing change from the norm, which is this (or these) poor psychopath kids with zero soul dying never knowing love, never comprehending their crime. People like that have always been with us and will always be with us; they're dangers to all, so they're rightly executed or imprisoned for life regardless of remorse or repentance.

Driver, how on earth can you object to that?

Excellent

So well said - I wish I had said it that way.

Yet I wouldn't have likely made the statement about "woman-like to...deduce" or "leap in illogic is typical of females"...{nor drawn the other, more grievously flawed "woman" comparison, like the lesser among our lights. That one seems like a psych. problem over a really, really small - ohhh - never mind!}

but we all have our thoughts to offer.

It still really chafes me that Messner will go free in 22 years or less...
Unbelievable!

While not wishing prison rape nor beatings on him, I only hope jail really is "too hard" for the poor, bored "Only a Lad" - I get so darn tired of these lugubrious liberal pleadings for sympathy, understanding, and compassion for their soulless ilk.

who cares? Do you really care about this punk? A brain dead idiot could teach him more in prison than he would have learned outside of prison.

BTW education is NOT a civil right. Civil rights are freedom of religion, speech, to peaceably assemble, to carry arms, to be free of discrimination, and the rights to be free of search or seizures without probable cause. Education, health care, food and shelter, are not civil rights. FYI Prisoners forfeit most of their civil rights upon entering prison.

Warren Messner and three other teens pled guilty to killing the man because they were bored, but Messner said prison is too hard.

If life in prison is hard, then I guess it will keep you from getting bored again, now won't it?

He didn't feel bad then, but he does now.

Yeah -- he feels bad that he got CAUGHT and PUNISHED.

And you're wise to refrain from making such statements! I do so because I AM a woman born and bred among males, and know only too, too well that such leaps in illogic are a common failing among my sex. It happens in men, too, but not remotely as often or with as much accompanying cattiness!

I wonder why they weren't sentenced to life? It was apparently an option. They certainly deserved it.

I think it's because they were juveniles when they committed the crime and you aren't supposed to give juveniles the death penalty.

Its against federal law if a juvenile correctional facility doesn't provide education.
