Well, hypothetically he would be more likely to run against Hillary as a dem than on the GOP since he's announced he wants to change parties, so it's not even a good hypothetical.

Ih gets the nomination, he's got my vote.

If McCain gets the nomination, he's got my vote.

If Hagel gets the nomination, he's got my vote.

If Rice gets the nomination, she's got my vote.

If Pataki or Giuliani get the nomination, they'd better have a damned good conservative veep nominee, but they've got my vote.

I agree with you, he's my senator and I detest the man, I will not vote for him in the Primary.

There's a key qualifier near the end of your post. I'm not going to point it out, but it should be obvious.

No, they lost because Republican Conservatives stayed home instead of voting. In this day and age every vote is needed and every vote counts.

In the case of JD Hayworth his district was changed around and he ended up in a liberal college district running against a popular former mayor who beat him up unmercifully about corruption (Abramoff and lobby $ to his wife) and stem cells. Kolbe retired and the GOP didn't support the GOP candidate running to take his seat beause that candidate was too conservative for the GOP... so perhaps the issue isn't so much congress as the GOP National Committee.

Stakes are high, that is why we ned to run a conservative instead of a surefire loser like Rino Rudy.

A Moderate Democrat will not vote for a far Right Conservative.. I know this even among my base of friends who are very angry at the far right conservative GOP and threatening to vote Dem (and I'm not certain they didn't this last election)...

...We got promises that were never fulfilled.....

Could you be more specific? Who made you those promises that were not fulfilled? The President, your Senators, House Representative? I know very well they didn't make you a promise as a group the wasn't kept. Why do you blame the Republican Party as a whole? Take out your frustrations on the individual that lied to you but do what is right and support those that didn't.

Was it the Republican leadership as a whole that you think mislead you? I am part of the Republican leadership on a local basis and I sure didn't lie to you. Do you want me to resign also? Let me know what you think. I might as well resign because I sure get tired of working my behind off every election trying to get good candidates to run, seeking funds and support for them while fighting back against the Democrats and fending off disgruntled, whining Republicans at the same time.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I buy that abortion is strictly a state issue. I equate abortion with the slavery issue in the 19th century, and there is even an argument that abortion is a greater evil. Sure, if Roe is overturned and the issue returned to the states, it'll save lives in states that ban abortion quickly, but why should the lives of the unborn be valued less in California than in Texas? This is an issue that unfortunately needs to be handled at the federal level with a constitutional amendment.

Agreed. I'll close by saying that if the GOP nominatates a RINO then the CP will garner some votes with a high profile candidate on their end. If the GOP nominates pro-abortion Rudy, then I think you will see a lot of people flock to a pro-life third party candidate.

The only way Chafee would get the nomination is if conservatives stayed home. (Gee, I feel like I'm repeating myself...)

So the front cover of NY Magazine this week is Bloomberg '08 with the caption, "He's Serious."

I honestly don't think that is going to happen. Why, in this day and age, so many people still think they need abortions for birth control is something I fail to understand, but I know people, some older than I and conservative (about 90% of the time) in their thinking, who are very angry at the GOP over the abortion issue.

Even Roe of Roe V Wade is sorry this ever went to the SCOTUS, but our current configuration isn't going to overturn it and now with a Dem congress/senate it's not going to be overturned there, it has to start at a State level and with education....

I agree, in a fight between Rino Rudy and Hitlery I can't vote for either.

Say what you will about McCain, but he is no Schwarzennegger. To me, Arnie is a liberal Republican, while McCain is a moderate conservative.

Sorry, but if that happens that is downright stupid -- like Hillary is going to do anything but support abortion??

Politics is like a marriage, full of give and take. No one candidate is going to 1000% represent our personal value in life, we have to choose the one who will have the guts to stand up to the dem-controlled Senate and Congress and veto their stupid bull and do everything necessary to protect our country from outside harm...
