If this passes it will be the end of America as we know it.

It amazes me that Congress would vote for something that a majority of us are against.

Maybe the Second American Revolution is closer than I thought. Except this time it won't be "Taxation without representation," it will be "Life in general without representation."

"The economy's great." Every reply, "The economy's greeeaaat."

Yes we see that about 20 times a day here. Truth is it only takes one senator to block this, so we'll see if there is a conservative in the senate.

" I don't know why you are so sure he will sign it. "

Put me down for 'signs it in a heartbeat'

Right now I'd consider it a win if he signed it without giggling too much.

Wow, can't say they aren't hitting the iron while its hot...

Hope they stay away from my guns though...

"This is not an amnesty bill. This is immediate citizenship for everyone. It's not what he was "pushing for the last 6 years"

Sounds a lot like a distinction without a difference. How many illegals were booted the last time we had an "amnesty", which was under Regan/Bush Sr.? We get screwed either way.

ROFLMAO! That's exactly right; they wouldn't hear of ANY compromise on immigration so now they're going to get torents of illegals registering as Democrats!

I wonder how that's gonna work out for them?

Looks like Bush will get what he wants :-/

I don't know why he and other Republicans wanted what is basically an amnesty (we can call it whatever the hell we want to, but it's still an amnesty). Do they think perhaps these people will vote Republican in the future???

Now, Claire, don't try to bring rational thoughts into this discussion!

The "compromise" was to legalize them all in a couple of years instead of right away. Big deal. Enjoy your minority party.

Guess we (government) also didn't learn a damn thing from the "meltdown" and "Amnesty" in 1986 either...

One of these days I'm going to have to click my heels together and say,

"There's no place like Reagan...There's no place like Reagan."

It's working out beautifully Howlin!

They run around calling the President; "El Presidente".

LOL, which is much more fun than actually living in reality and voting smart, and encouraging others to do the same.

As a Texan you should begin lobbying your state to exercise its right to create 4 additional states and manufacture the additional 8 Senate Republicans who will thwart the illegal alien agenda.

Only Texas can help us now.

You'd have the bonus pleasure of really p!ssing off the far leftists in Hollywood.

I don't know why you are so sure he will sign it. He was pushing a guest worker program, with the possibility of citizenship for some down the road. He has not been "pushing it for the last 6 years".

I remember him talking about during his first Presidential campaign, and even towards the end of his time as Texas Governor. I also recall it from sometime in 2001 (after 9/11, he stopped talking about it for a long time, I will admit).

He will sign this - putting aside the fact that he does not like to veto anything (how many vetoes does he have - one, two tops?), he has made it very clear that he wants some kind of amnesty - whether they are called "guest workers" or whatever, he wants it.

Some have speculated that certain large industries that benefit from illegal aliens put a lot of money into Bush's campaign coffers in the past, and this would be payback. I don't know. I just know I've heard him talk of it for many years now.
