The Shekell fire is destroying homes and businesses, brush and wildlife as we speak.
Arson.
It was very productive, pretty inspiring, and perhaps intimidating.
I may be taking on a huge project that will have me on the FR reserve list. We need a few more family meetings to decide. In the meantime, I will be doing all the freeping I can manage to squeeze in.
How did everyone survive the snow and cold?
I admire folks that jump in and try something new.
Howdy,,,Good Day,I hope...;0)
LOL;0)
We're getting used to the cold now... it's currently 27° but feels pretty nice. Sun's warm and starting to melt the snow, but it turns back into ice. :-(
Now that you have cable TV...why don't you watch the Brit Hume show tonight...and watch his interview with Pres. Bush.
HE says that Pres. Bush does NOT feel obliged to do what others want..and that he isn't beaten down by the job.
I guess I tend to believe that HE knows a lot that we don't, and that he won't leave in 2008, with this country heading downhill...
For one thing...after this last Nov. he has to realistically worry that in 2008, a DEM might be POTUS, so he HAS to leave the country in a shape that a DEM won't turn over to the terrorists...
because HE has family and friends that he will have to trust the future POTUS to with.
BLACKSBURG, VA., November 30, 2006 -- Jim A. Kuypers, assistant professor of communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech, reveals a disturbing world of media bias in his new book Bush's War: Media Bias and Justifications for War in a Terrorist Age.What has essentially happened since 9/11 has been that Bush has repeated the same themes, and framed those themes the same whenever discussing the War on Terror, said Kuypers, who specializes in political communication and rhetoric. Immediately following 9/11, the mainstream news media (represented by CBS, ABC, NBC, USA Today, New York Times, and Washington Post) did echo Bush, but within eight weeks it began to intentionally ignore certain information the president was sharing, and instead reframed the president's themes or intentionally introduced new material to shift the focus.
... According to Arkansas State Universitys Dennis W. White, a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, "This is a time of maximum danger for our countrya time of crisis. The American people historically turn to the President during these times for explanation, for comfort, and for exhortation to purpose. Yet, the President does not speak directly to the people. His speech is mediated; he speaks through the media, members of the media comment on presidential speech, and others comment on the comment. Jim Kuypers is the best in the business at explaining presidential crisis communication and its relationship to the media.
OT - speaking of cable TV - I am so excited...my favorite tv program starts up again tonight. "The Closer" on TNT.

Exclusive: President George W. Bush on 'Special Report with Brit Hume' Tonight [Live Thread NOW]
I watched it. President Bush is such a good man and even though I have been depressed by the news these last few days, I'm glad to hear that he hasn't been beaten down. I can't imagine how a lesser man would take the abuse that President Bush has taken. I truly admire this man.
I am in awe, also. And, in fact, he was uppermost in my mind this morning first thing and last thought last night were my prayers for him and our country.
Well, #1, I do not have cable and didn't know when it would air.
#2, by the time I found the live thread for the interview and posted the link here, it was over.
#3, I will catch it as a vid when Brit puts it up on the site .... he will, won't he?
Aaawwwww!!!!!
