Steele-backed Jim Pelura will be the new chairman of the MD GOP, defeating Anne Arundel county businessman and former U.S. House candidate John White. Pelura, a veterinarian, was the state campaign manager for Bush-Cheney '04.

The hard left is in control at least partly because, when given the mandate to lead, Ehrlich and other GOP'ers turned into the soft left. And yet Bob, you still didn't get Michael J. Fox's endorsement.
Enjoy retirement.

We're screwed. I wonder what the results would have been if he had picked a decent running mate, cut taxes with the money he created, and allowed his staff to speak against homosexuality.

Maryland Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. called for Republican unity yesterday at the state convention,... Then stop spitting on the base's conservative values. Grow a backbone and stand up for America and her biblically based moral values.
JMHO!!!

One of Ehrlich's problems is overconfidence.

It is kind of suprising that Ehrlich lost, considering that he had favourable job approval ratings. But this is a blue state where voters are not known for their intelligence.

The near future looks pretty dismal for Marylanders.

I wonder what the results would have been if he had picked a decent running mate When Ehrlich picked Michael Steele for a running mate, my first reaction was "picked a token black man". Later I met Steele in person and I changed my mind.
Then when Ehrlich picked Kirsten Cox, I thought "picked a token blind woman". I met her last October, and I WAS WRONG. She is an intelligent capable, articulate young woman who might have taken a shot at Milkulski later had she and Ehrlich been elected this time.

One more thing. If you look back at the campaign, O'Malley picked a black guy and never let him out of his sight. That is, his pick never campaigned alone.
Kirsten Cox campaigned alone over half the time.
She would have been a fabulouse lt. gov or even gov.

Ehrlich and other GOP'ers turned into the soft left. Yep, we need to get a real conservative like Alan Keyes back to Maryland to run Statewide.

You seem to be a big fan of hers. 'She would have made a fantastic Lt Governor, Governor, or even threatening to take Mikulski's seat.' huh? Wow. Pretty good for a lady who had never run for election before and never headed anything other than handicapped agencies.

You have obviously never met her. You do a pretty good job of character assasination on someone you never met.

What does this have to do with her personally?
Haven't we talked about this before, like before the election?

It's sure that we have a lot of work to do, but I think we can get back on course. Let's carry the ball, organize, grassroots, and get behind Steele, Pelura, White, and other capable people to take this state back.
To: Norman Bates
Republicans should just abandon Maryland and move to the South.

No way. We ought to work hard to make Maryland - that "assured blue state" of theirs - to be a thorn in the democrats' side.
