Would that it were only too bad for Russia. It isn't ice cream and puppy dogs for us...

There is a temptation for those concerned with the political fallout to clutch at alternative scenarios to a killing by a Kremlin hitman.

Then I certainly hope that the politicians don't cringe from naming names when this case is finally solved. Politics and foreign relations are trumped by a murder on British soil by (possibly) a Russian.

I'm am seeing vast amounts of disinfo being peddled--I think largely from the Russians, the Russian mafia and their friends. The Times' sources seem to be official British sources.

What has that to do with sliced bread?

I simply point out that having madmen murderers in charge of thousands of nuclear weapons, proliferating to Ahmadinejad and company, is not wonderful for the US, or the rest of human civilization, and is hardly a tragedy confined to the territory of Russia.

True, putin is becoming a danger to the world, not just russia alone. We are the world's "cop" and the world would like to gang up on us. And yet, being the house of satan, they are a house divided, all wannbe king demons, all fighting/scheming to be top dog. This is why pelosi and her ilk are such a danger to us, a STRONG MAN does not allow his home to be broken into, if we are perceived to be cut-and-run cowards like the spanish then the virus of terrorism will attack this weakened organism. Divide and conquer : old british axiom. The U in the US means United, be divided and we all die....

We don't have to be perceived as cut and run cowards, we *are* cut and run cowards. And Ahmadinejad is winning and will go right on winning. While nobody does a thing about it.

It is obvious that the world is drifting towards armaggedon, some kind of terrible international conflict, a malthusian correction if you will. This is all in God's plan. The question then is personal : how ready are YOU for it?

No, it really is public not personal. I'll be fine, I have peace of mind, etc - I am concerned for others.

Malthus was an idiot. All the world's people could fir in Texas, and the population density wouldn't be any tighter than Paris.

FR Thead: ABC News Exclusive: Murder in a Teapot British officials say police have cracked the murder-by-poison case of former spy Alexander Litvinenko, including the discovery of a "hot" teapot at London's Millennium Hotel with an off-the-charts reading for Polonium-210, the radioactive material used in the killing.

The credible reports track the original UK Times reports which clearly came from Scotland Yard.
