Stephen Hawking says space is his next goal.
Have read all of his books -- such a great mind with such a tragic disease.
Hawkins is so smart he is stupid.
Since they're all into one-way travel, how about giving all Muslims a one-way ticket to the Sun?
Dear Stephen,
After you.......
Wonder what kind of damage running into some pebble out in space at those speeds would do to you.
He is already a space cadet. I do have a few people in mind though, if this would ever come about.
Sure, just tell them that is where their 72 virgins are. They will fall for about anything.
It might be somewhat in bad taste, but parody/swing band cover artist Richard Cheese does an awesome duet with a "Hawking impersonator" on the song "The Girl is Mine," originally performed by Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney.
If you haven't heard it, you should. It is hilarious.
New Title: liberals and terrorists must leave earth.
.....been there, done that. Now trying to "fix" it.

As a mathematician, physicists do not impress me.
When that time comes...I think it will just be finished. To hell with living in space or on another planet. When it is over, it is over! LOL.
After the Earth was used up, we found a new solar system and hundreds of new Earths were terraformed and colonized. The central planets formed the Alliance and decided all the planets had to join under their rule. There was some disagreement on that point. After the War, many of the Independents who had fought and lost drifted to the edges of the system, far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies; a ship would bring you work, a gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple: find a crew, find a job, keep flying.
That may be a tad harsh. Let me rephrase the question.
How old is Hawking now?
He missed the great conundrum of the 20th century: how to make sure that nothing is ever done that does not also provide for 100%: 100% safety, 100% of all mankind must be able to make the trip --- or nobody goes; that would of course include all welfare recipients.
That's the 20th Century Mantra...
Here's my suggestion: Freeze a bunch of human embryos, and lauch them out of the solar system. Somehow, somewhere, if there there is anyone out there, they will find them and get them to develop into humans.
Of course, on the other hand, they may end up being beasts of burden in some advanced alien civilization.
