The councilwoman should be run out of office for her handling of this. She should be demanding justice for her constituents and decrying the protection of these vicious animals by the media blackout going on everywhere except LB. This kind of elected official is part of the problem.
You never hear about "healing" and so on when the situation is reversed, which usually involves law enforcement wasting some black scumbag who needs wasting. Then there's an uproar and the race-baiting shake-down artists start lining up to do the same old schtick, and the dumbass white-guilt media fall for it every time, which accomplishes nothing but to help line the pockets of the shakedown artists.
This woman is clearly a PC lightweight. She's afraid to rock the boat and wants to keep all her white constituents docile and drinking the Kumbaya diversity Kool-Aid because it's so much easier than standing up and calling these people out for what they are. She should be run out of town on a rail for her cowardly attempt to keep this horrific attack quiet.

Exactly. The story was written in such a way as to minimize the damage. The blacks are teenagers and the whites are women. The black girls are motivated students. The pumpkins are small. There is more reporting on how the black girls are upstanding than there is on the white womens' injuries.

I think she'll soon acknowledge her mistake in handling this. I'm more concerned about her outspoken support for a tax increase proposal that she wants placed on a citywide ballot.
I have lost all respect for the councilwoman, so you're preaching to the choir. Fortunately, she isn't in my district, but her handling of this was appalling.
Most politicians bend over backward to sooth the outrage sure to come from the outspoken among the minority community, no matter the circumstances. This, coupled with parents who indoctrinate their kids that nothing is their fault, is a huge part of why we have kids who think they can get away with anything.
These parents should have been instilling the values in these kids which would have kept them from being involved in a near-fatal beating. At the very least, they should have been outraged at what their kids did and not made excuses.
The answer to all of this will no doubt be a bunch of community forums aimed at making people more culturally sensitive, because after all, if the minorities were not so mistreated in the first place, this wouldn't have happened, right?
On another note, I've noticed over the years that Halloween trick or treating, which used to be a very localized activity here for kids from the neighborhood, has turned into a procession of cars pulling up from out of the area where parents drop their kids off to "get the better treats". Not to mention the menacing looking older kids who roam the streets with no costumes, carrying pillowcases. I don't do Halloween any longer, and many neighbors are skipping it as well.
Unfortunately, building the haunted house attracted kids from all over, and the minute 30-35 kids of any race started hanging around making lewd comments to visitors, someone should have put the skids on it. Unfortunately, this isn't the town anymore that I grew up in where things were fairly innocent and crimes were reported as such without excuse.
This ticks me off to no end.
Why I wont buy a MSM newspaper. It will be a grand day when the MSM are no more. I'd hope that they change their ways but I am not counting on it.
If you or one of your loved ones become a victim of a racial beat-down, I can guarantee you that another idiotic tax increase will not be your first concern anymore. But I guess as long as it's somebody else's life versus a few dollars from your pocketbook, the pocketbook wins. Perhaps if you'd demonstrate some outrage to your elected officials about this outrageous beat-down and show them who's boss, meaning the electorate and you as a part of that electorate, you'd have an easier time of controlling the morons you elect, be it over taxes or crime control.
They can't change their ways any easier than a leopard can change its spots. They selectively choose not to report such stories as these or, if forced to, they minimize or omit extremely important facts. This case is a perfect example.
And do you see the LA Slimes chastising the NAACP's disgraceful position in any way? Hell no!

This would be national headlines and we would be getting an update everyday if it was the other way around. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be on every news program. Wrong is wrong no matter the color.
I didn't recall this detail from the original story. Pretty good guy to wade into a massive girl fight.
It wasn't just a girl fight. This was a brutal, violent assault, and the first part of the attack was by one of the boys. The girls joined in a bit later.
Thank God for the good samaritan, and that there are decent black Americans unaffected by the lower-class, criminally disturbed black culture of racial hatred and extreme violence. Recent news articles suggest he doesn't want to come forward out of fear of retaliation from the blacks being charged and their families. I guess he knows who and what he's dealing with. I wouldn't want to, either. The people who did this aren't fit to be called animals because not very many animals attack just for sport, and the protection they're getting as juveniles isn't exactly reassuring to witnesses as well as all other potential victims. Speaking of which, the laws protecting the identification of juveniles charged with these all too common crimes should have been repealed long ago, at least to those aged eleven and over.
