"Where were these WMDs manufactured? The ISG didn't find any facilities in Iraq capable of making such huge quantities."

There were many facilities that were "dual use" facilities.

They were using parts of their Petrochemical facilities as weapons labs...then either covering up or removing entirely the equipment that would get them in trouble when the inspectors came calling.

And do you really think after the bombing we did post March 2003 and the fact they KNEW we were coming that the Ba'ath Socialist Party that ran Iraq was just going to SHOW US right to where the WMD's are at?

You are talking about a government that built an entire oil refinery inside a mountain.

We didn't find that until after I'd been there 6 months.

"I'm not sure why such an important question caused you to fly off on some paranoid "JOOOOOOOS" rant."

I did no such thing. You were the one insinuating that there were "other reasons" why we'd claim the WMD's were hidden in the Bakah Valley.

If there is all this evidence that Chalibi mislead anyone why hasn't he been tried yet? Where are the legitimate investigations?

Oh...yeah...that's right. *rolls eyes*

"Oh, they say they love the troops, but their decision to abandon them in the field speaks otherwise."

Starbase:This little bit of hyperbole doesn't strengthen the piece IMO. No one, of course, has "decided to leave soldiers in the field" in Iraq. Leaving Iraq means putting all our soldiers on planes back to the US.

Please don't conflate not giving a soldier whatever policy objective they want with actually betraying that soldier.

The calls by politicians and others to pull our troops out now or in four months is tantamount to abandoning them in the field. The enemy is given a greenlight to keep fighting while our soldiers start to wonder if it's worth it to keep fighting.

I'm a soldier who's been in Iraq. If the Congress Critters decide to (insert substitute for "cut and run" here)...it DOES mean they are abandoning us.

There is no other way we can possibly view it.

And yes I have talked to other soldiers about this.

There's some evidence that Chalabi was in kahoots with Iran. He was a major source of the bogus information on Iraq+WMDs. Who supplied us with the "WMDs moved to Syria/BV" intel? Since they didn't exist, who fed us that bogus information?

You keep saying that Saddam didn't have WMDs, that it was bogus information, etc., etc.

He did have WMDs. He used them in the past, on his own people as well as against the Iranians during that war of his. By his past behavior, we know that he had no moral objection to using them again in the future.

He spent years blowing smoke up the posteriors of the UN inspectors, moving stuff from location to location to hide it from the inspectors. He had scientists in his administration whose expertise was in chem/bio weaponry.

Maybe he kept them on the payroll as chefs?

But that is what we were told inititally. The reasons have been constantly changing. The American people do feel that they were lied to and that our troops are in a no win situation.

WRONG!

That is NOT what we were told initially. That is the lie spread by DU, KOS and the anti-American lefties.

Try reading ALL of the Presidents speeches including his weekly speeches to the nation on the radio leading up to the start of the war.

Try and educate yourself before repeating the lies of the MSM, DU, KOS and the RATS.

Thank you!

They don't even have the common sense or courtesy to realize our men and women come here when they get online... and their families.

That's a very good point to remember.

Thank you... I mean dang already.

I blame liberal education, there's no explanation for the emptyness i've seen here.

Sigh...

Oh well, have to go at it harder with facts... again.
Not even facts work for some folks though.

All of these subjects have been debunked even before the MSM put them out... yet some folks take ADD and laziness to a new level.

God Bless all of us. People have forgotten the nature of sacrifice... and think they're small g gods.

No, no, no. You implied Israel would benefit, don't try to spin your way out of it, you said what you said. Txradioguy called you on it.

So either stick to your guns man, otherwise, just STFU.

Nice.....using the "I could have called you a lying lame bloody wartmonk"..,but I won't as you deserve better, tactic. HA!! ROFLOL!!

Oh, but there is RELIABLE evidence of WMD's...but the same people that have fed you that "No EVIDENCE" line...could probably sell you the line that Bush caused Hurricane Katrina too. See...two can play that foolish game.

Now just stop...and go read read what fellow FReepers "alas babylon, and gardencatz" have posted in reply to your post.

You mean the Drive By Media got one wrong? How can this be!!!!!!

Seriously, after all these years, it just gobsmacks me that real FReepers still fall for the DBM's melodrama show of lies, inuendos, half truths and ommissions. But then, politics make strange bedfellows. So if it proves their point, no matter how false, they'll use it.

Where do you think those terrorists would be if they weren't busy in Iraq?

This is THE reason.

It is the reason we need to be there forever, if necessary. We all agree that another attack is coming, but no one here wants it (I hope!). It's somewhat amazing it hasn't happened yet. I really do believe that because it's so much easier for looney jihadis to attack us THERE, that they're not planning a much harder attack HERE. When we're gone from there, if too soon, they'll be back to the old plans--getting us here.

Of course, they could terrorize Europe, India or some other country, and in fact, that's been done several times. In each case, the attacks went off because they were close to muslim countries, or had a lot of muslims from muslim countries living there. The difference between these attacks and the 9/11 attack is how much more difficult it is to pull them off here.
