Thanks for the info....didn't mean to impugn the guy..and I hope he's OK.but statistically speaking, when a guy's out and about at that hour..my three reasons are usually the case...BTW..that's why hotels have bars, and mini-bars in the rooms..so the tourists and guests don't have to go wandering the streets at all hours..

Waikiki at that hour is a busy place. There are still many places open and lots of foot traffic.

Waikiki is not seedy like it was twenty years ago. It's very upscale and clean. The new beachwalk is beautiful with lush landscape, tiki torches, sculptures, benches and tables. Lots of free entertainment on the beach as well.

The international market place is a loop off the main drag that houses many many shops.

It was an attack that would be unexpected.

I've had many mini-bar, and especially main bar, moments with the official Bush staff. They are ALL regular guys and gals. And Greg Pitts is a really good guy.

I know from posting at FreeRepublic for almost 10 years -- and knowing the spirit of the FReepers -- that you didn't post in malice. I am just glad to be in a position to set the recrord straight. And, yes, if it was just an ordinary American, who would care? It's only a story because Greg is a big part of the Bush entourage. But he's no different from any ordinary conservative.

The only place the Bush entourage is allowed to congregate, in the media's eyes, is a church or a Boy Scout meeting -- and they'd be condemned for both if it made the papers. My only purpose for posting on this thread is to stick up for regular guys like Greg -- and not allow what is the usual cynical, inaccurate stuff to take hold, even among the normally sypathetic.

Emails and cards are enroute from me to Gregg. Prayers and good wishes should be enroute from others.

Gregg's a great guy, good at his job. And he has suffered, in service to the president of the United States. If he wants to leave a bar at 2 a.m., good for him. He's earned it. As have all of the president's staff, who work longer hours and under tougher circumstances than the public ever knows.

Again, Ken. I know you didn't intend nearly the malice I may have projected upon your post. But I thought it was important to seek out this post, and contribute to the record.

Thanks for the info, and the clarification..Hope he's feeling well. And thanks also for recognizing that my original comment wasn't meant to be malicious, just a wry observation on the human comedy, and the the process I besmirched someone who you vouch for as a good guy..Hope he he gets to enjoy the rest of his Thanksgiving, and you do likewise....

regards

Ken

PS..Maybe that's what comes from living next door to the Clintons for 6 years here in beautiful downtown Chappaqua....one gets cynical..
