Why is he so popular in Vietnam?
Did I miss something? I heard that W is the same as the devil and Adolf Hitler.
Vietnamese teenagers have always been smarter than your average schlubs, dedicated to overachievement, and I guess that extends to Vietnam as well. In short, they can think for themselves and don't pay attention to the mainstream media.
It's an illusion. They've clearly been paid. Or so says today's fish wrapper.

It's already withering away, fast. Can you IMAGINE the effect of these photos of screaming teenagers on Vietnam's old gray men of the Kremlin? They are pragmatic so they are likely to want to get onto the capitalism bandwagon. Nobody likes to look like an old fuddy duddy and in their case, they don't like to lose face either. They are likely to grant young Vietnamese ever more freedom. They also don't like to be left in the dust by increasingly uncommunist China either. Freedom's winds are blowing hard in Vietnam right now.
Interesting that Bush and America are popular in Vietnam, which after the war and all you'd think would hate us, but hated in Indonesia, which being our longtime ally you'd think would love us. Funny how that works.
Yeah, and we gave them all that tsunami aid, too. As for Vietnam, we gave them carpet bombing and just look at the result!
