There is nothing so pathetic, as well as infuriating, as seeing normally intelligent people accept patently ridiculous (and Biblically unsound) dogma in the face of provable reality.

So how can it be determined that the creatin account is patently ridiculous and Bibilically unsound *dogma*? It's part of religion and the supernatural and we have been told regulary, incessantly, that the supernatural is outside the realm of what science can speak on. So if science deals only with the natural and not the supernatural, then it cannot be used to disprove Scripture. So on what basis then do you make the assertion that the creation account is patently ridiculous and Biblically unsound dogma?

Find St. Augustine's writing on the literal interpretation of creation. I used to have it handy but then my hard drive crashed.

He can discourse on the subject a lot more eloquently (and with a lot more authority) than I can muster up....

Don't you know yet that science can't prove anything? If there's one thing the evos have kept beating everyone over the head with for all this time is that you can't prove something with science, you can only disprove it.

Anyway, there's somewhat of a disparity between what science indicates to have happened and what Scripture says did happen and the biggest has to do with the age of the earth and universe. However, there are two problems with that. One is that means making the assumption that science is always right; and if it keeps changing to accomodate new evidence, that it's not right. You can't use something that is wrong to disprove something else.

The other is that there is so much that Scripture did get right and describe, that is regularly glossed over, excused away, or outright ignored.

And why is it that just because someone chooses to believe God over men in one point, that that makes it the *stupification* of American. It's not like because of that one issue, all of American has gone brain dead in every area. It's a pretty broad bruash to paint people with but it's a typical anti-Christian response in an attempt to make people turn away from faith by making them look like they're stupid for having it.
