--Most independent voters listened to the MSM baloney and voted the GOP out of office as a result. Well guys, you got what you deserved.--
Most independents probably had never heard of Pelosi, Conyers, Waxman et al. They may have had a knee-jerk reaction to perceived failures of Congress, and ejected many 'bums' of the GOP majority.
--That's what I was saying until I saw the turnout numbers. Now I have to revise that and say "It was the war and nothing but the war - and low turnout for the GOP".--
It was, after all, a midterm. The Presidency is still perceived as the most powerful branch of gov't by most.
Many of those who stayed home this time around (GOP, independents, or residual Reagan Democrats) should be motivated in 2008 by:
(a) Two years of neosocialist attempts to cut military spending to boost entitlements,
(b) Two years of obstruction, bogus investigations, ACLU assaults on the Patriot Act and advocacy of the 'Al Qaeda bill of rights' in a time of war, and
(c)The presence of the Hilldebeast.
Meidcare is still deducted from my SS check just as it was when I was earning income and of the same amount as you pay. I also pay 20% of the cost for most procedures in addition to either $5.00 or $25.00 per office visit. It is not much different than ordinary health insurance except a little cheaper.
It cost the taxpayer a ton but it is not free for anyone except the truly bad off (or liars who work the system) who get Meicaid.
