Yes, please, I'd be grateful.

Gee maybe I missed the 'new homepage' that say FR is a forum dedicated to the promotion of Liberalism and 'ex'-Democrats?!?

Nope, I hit the refresh button and it still says conservatism.

Rudy threads should be zotted.

Explain that one?

We're still two years out and Rudy's is the best known name.

McCain was #1 in November 1998. Did he win?

I would vote for Rudy over McLame, but we can do much better.

President Newt.

What is the fixation on the part of some FReepers to constantly post pictures of Rudy in drag for an event that he was doing (it was a Roast)?

Disagree and sink his candidacy on his positions on the issues of the day, not faux concern about crossdressing.

If we run a Republican social liberal against a Democrat social liberal, the Democrat will win.

Not necessarily, if the Republican is a strong fiscal conservative and strong in WoT issue. It also depends on the 'mood' of the election, I think.

Am I in the twilight zone? I know that no self-respecting conserative would suggest supporting the nomination of a flaming New York liberal... if this is what you want do us all a favor and go to DU and vote for Hi(t)llary...

Have you all gone completely over the edge ??

Apparently. I actually had one idiot try and tell me that all the R's that lost seats were "real conservatives" and that "conservatism" is a losing issue. That we NEED to move further Left to win back power.

Now this big push for liberal RINO's like McCain, Guiliani, and Romney. While each has one or two "conservative" planks in their platforms, their over all liberalism comes shining through on several key issues each.

Rudy threads should be zotted.

Add in McCain and Romney threads and I'd agree with you. If the best the GOP can do is field a bunch of RINO's, then maybe they should get out of the way and let the Libertarians or Constitution folks have a go at being the "conservative" party in the Duopoly.

WHat amazes me the most is how others, who have never set foot in NYC, whose only knowledge of NYC and NYers comes from Sienfeld, Friends, Law and Order or whatever pap the MSM spoon feeds them, can be sooooo certain of how this man governs.

Well you do have a point. I can't argue with you on that. Anything can happen. Maybe Rudy won't win - who knows. We will see. My vote goes to Rudy if he runs in the primary. BUT whomever wins the primary will get my vote for president.

Did you see the Gallup poll from July?

Gallup has done a small poll of Republicans and Democrats to gauge who is viable within their own parties for the 2008 presidential campaigns. Only Republicans were polled on Republican candidates and Democrats for Democrat candidates, about 450 people were used for each survey. McCain is seen as an unacceptable candidate by 40 percent, what’s more shocking is the Democrats think Edwards is the most acceptable. Why is rice blowing away the competition?

(Numbers are acceptable vs. not acceptable)
Rudy: 73 - 25
Rice: 68 - 29
McCain: 55 - 41
Gingrich: 45 - 50
J.Bush: 44 - 52
Frist: 38 - 44
Allen: 36 - 35
Cheney: 34 - 61
Pataki: 33 - 51
Romney: 31 - 42

Edwards: 71 - 25
Clinton: 69 - 25
Gore: 68 - 31
Kerry: 59 - 40
Biden: 42 - 49

LOL you're right. NYC is a great city. I voted for Rudy twice and I know how Rudy is as a leader of a city which is like a small country.

Why should we ommit them if they run for president? Did we omit Keyes threads or Gary Bauer threads or Kerry threads or Clinton threads when they ran? I specifically remember having a ball on some Al Gore and Kerry threads. Why should we ban Rudy, Romney and McCain threads just because you don't like them to run? That makes no sense. Aren't they news? Isn't this a news forum?
