It looks like this may have been overlooked yesterday. A bit of good news in the wake of the elections.

Disagreement and breaking the law are two different things. One does not justify the other, except to the ACLU.

Just clap him in irons, ship him to Iraq, and then have him drive a Humvee with a "Re-elect Pelosi" bumper sticker.
The troops will settle his hash within 20 minutes.

He'll make a fine addition to the lawnmower brigade at Leavenworth. Hope the jury of his peers maxes his ass out.

When I was in Ranstein, Germany, where the Wounded Warrior come into the hosp, or on their way home, on one of my deployments. I had the chance to meet another Hawaiian, he was a big man, and he was laying on a litter. He had lost his leg from the knee down...he had the best attitude, when one the the medics asked him why he had such a great attitude, he replied "I am going home to my kids"... now this is a true Hero.......

Don't waste any more money on this punk. Dishonorable discharge, and law suit to recover the cost of training / education the Army provided.

Wasn't Private Slovik executed for the same thing? Yeah, I believe you're right. He was one unlucky dude -- in WWII there was a real problem with hundreds (if not thousands) of troops who managed to miss the movement of their units. As I understand it, Pvt Slovik was picked more or less randomly to serve as an example to others, in hopes of cutting down on the problem.
Lucky for us we don't have that kind of wide-spread problem today -- another reason why we'll never go back to a draft.

After conviction, he'll deserve every one of those six years at Leavenworth, hopefully in the max security prison.

Isn't that a bit extreme?
