You may begin to undermine the whole distinction between humans animals and humans I believe that the reason is not to "spare" human women the burden of oocyte harvesting. More than likely, the reason is that no one has been able to develop a human embryo sufficiently to obtain embryonic stem cells. However, a Shanghai lab has reported creating cybrids using rabbit oocytes and human nuclei. They also reported creating human embryonic stem cells from the embryos and that the embryos only produced human proteins. I call it "Any egg in a crisis" in my blog.

Nevertheless, for those of us who believe that we humans are created in the image of God, I don't think we can divide the image of God: These are our children, however wrongly manipulated by the scientists.
Are they going to dig up Sheehans uterus to implant Rosies eggs?
