Rangel insisted that a new draft should be fair, with people from every part of society coming to a national public service.
Six, McFly?
Rangel needs to go hunting with the VPOTUS. :)
This writer is an idiot! Rangel is in the House - they need to pick up a lot more than 6 seats to take over the House! They need a net gain of six seats in the Senate to take over there!
The Dems are oblivious as to what will happen. Two million dead and then an Islamic state. Then stopping the flow of oil. They will destroy our economy and the economy of the world without another major attack on our soil.
I think he should hold hearings and schedule a vote.
And I would suggest that the top of the pick for Rangel's draft would be the United States Congress! Now wouldn't that be interesting? Charlie in uniform and answering to a drill sargeant!
I think we should use this tomorrow, Rangel to bring back draft if Democrats win, could be better than Kerry's "joke"
If the dems win the house, they will be in a prime position to obstruct, but not in a position to pass their dream bills.
This needs to be screamed from the rooftops.......
Rangel has been shown time and again that there is not a disproportionate number of blacks in the military, and despite evidence to the contrary he still insists there is. He is an idiot. We had a draft for many years I dont recall it stopping any wars, he doesnt either, there goes that point. I believe he would like to start a draft during the remaining time George Bush is in office so he can say that Bush caused the draft, and believe it or not a lot of idiots would believe him.
NEWSFLASH! We have a Selective Service registration today:
The Selective Service System is an independent federal agency operating with permanent authorization under the Military Selective Service Act (50 U.S.C. App. 451 et seq.). It is not part of the Department of Defense; however, it exists to serve the emergency manpower needs of the Military by conscripting untrained manpower, or personnel with professional health care skills, if directed by Congress and the President in a national crisis. Its statutory missions also include being ready to administer an alternative service program, in lieu of military service for men classified as conscientious objectors.
Today, the Selective Service System continues to satisfy its statutory obligations while providing the only time-tested mechanism to backup the all-volunteer military when needed.
ATTENTION, UNDOCUMENTED MALES
& IMMIGRANT SERVICING GROUPS!
If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. Its the law. You can register at any U.S. Post Office and do not need a social security number. When you do obtain a social security number, let Selective Service know. Provide a copy of your new social security number card; include your complete name, date of birth, Selective Service registration number, and current mailing address; and mail to the Selective Service System, P.O. Box 94636, Palatine, IL 60094-4636.

Is this a surrender?
six seats ?
Rangel is using the same tired mottos to try and bring back the draft that the same party and polical loudmouths used to get rid of the draft.
I hope Charlie shouts it from the rooftops between now and Tues.
WHERE IS MY F'ING BALLOT!
Voting straight GOP will be like taking my ballot and shoving it right down his throat!
Enough of these punks! It's time to shut them all down!
Let us not forget the damn fool did not cast a yea vote for his stupid proposal the first time around.
That guys got so much imagination.
This proves he's a total idiot.
"Everyone wants to fight with someone else's children"? Guess it wasn't someone elses children in the other wars.
"...new draft should be fair, with people from every part of society coming to a national public service." So the old drafts weren't fair? And then just how does Mr. Rangle propose to have a draft that singles out certain segments of the population? Sounds like profiling to me.
Rangel has no idea how nutty he sounds, or what the logical consequence of his statements might be. All he knows about the military and war, he "learned" via leftis perceptions of Viet Nam. On the one hand, being a Democrat, he's into forced "equitability" and loves the idea of being able to snatch up the unwilling. On the other hand, he wants to create opposition to this war and any war, and sees this as the way to accomplish that.
Trouble is, leading up to this election, he's the one advocating a return to the draft, and he's a Democrat. Who fears this sort of thing the most? Young, leftist college students. He's just alienated a fair number of potential Democrat voters.
