You know...

I guess its just a tradition with me...

The weekend after an election, I just go to one of the weekly gunshows in our area, they just about have them every weekend anyway...

It makes me feel better, regardless if we win or lose...

I just go buy a case of ammo...

Somehow, it kinda calms me down...

Interesting analysis. I'm sure that I'm not the only gun owner or prospective gun owner who, if the worst should happen in the upcoming election, would speed up some long-planned purchases of "hardware" (and ammo, too) before the new Congress is seated...

If the rats win the election and take control of congress you can count on the resurrection of the assault weapons ban. I, for one, will be acquiring some new hardware before that happens.

Me too. I've been buying guns & ammo this past summer, fall and will probably buy more this month.
Btw, here in Indiana we've been `shall issue' for years, but they passed a `lifetime' carry permit law recently.
I'm no `spring chicken' but just avoiding the aggravation of the forms, fingerprinting, money orders, etc. makes it worth it.

Thanks for posting this. Here in Colorado we have not heard ONE WORD about Bill (D-immitude) Ritter's inner-city fear of guns, and desires to confiscate them from citizens. Are you listening, Beauprez people? Get your heads out of the dark, and press this hard! (I already gave money!)

Colorado is turning into a cesspool inhabited by Coastal losers who have fled their failing socialist enclaves, plus of course the MILLIONS of illegals that have moved here in the past fifteen years. When I say MILLIONS, I mean MILLIONS.

Congratulations on getting your `lifetime' `shall issue' privilege. I hope the next stop is Alaska and Vermont style rights. Bloomberg et al. are getting too froggy!

CA: District 11, Stockton.: *Richard Pombo (A/A) vs. Jerry McNerney (F/NR). McNerney has a slight lead over Pombo...

I'm going to go way, way out on a limb here and call Bravo Sierra on this one... General rule of thumb when reading public/media polls is to deduct 5-10 points from the 'Rat and add 0-5 points to the Pubbie. My prediction is Pombo wins with at least a 5% margin.

Absolutely congrats on the lifetime permit!!!

I had not heard a thing about that until you said!!!

Texas does OK on issues like this...But we still have a few nervous ninnies running around in Austin trying to find favor with "Kinky" "Granma's" "Ding-Bells" and guys with fabulous haircuts..."

Gun-control and expansion of the CHL program seem to be offsetting themselves in a way this next session...

I expect Patrick, who will win the MA governor's race, to introduce legislation to the Dem legislature to end the issuing of firearms permits. This is likely to go up to the SCOTUS within the next 10-15 years.

Serious research material.

Only a few more days to the election, and then we'll know what we're up against. Or not.

Considering even those nominally on our side have as much spine as a snowman made of Jello...

I'm not too optimistic at this point.

My prediction for NY is that half that state legislature stays Republican, and any gun control measures die in the State Senate until the Republican's lose that house, which realistically could be at the next election (another 2 years), or sooner if anyone dies in office.

After that, it's just a question of whether they void all the Upstate lifetime pistol permits, or only limit the new ones.
