Got it...thanks for the ping. I'm going to throw the lettuce in my fridge away.

I'm not.

1.3 million cases of food borne salmonella a year in the U.S. That's over 35,000 cases a day. ...and their calling 172 cases in 18 states an 'outbreak'?! Give me a break!

1,300,000 cases/year works out to 3561/day; 172 is an outbreak? Poor writing.

The article makes two points that might allow the response: there are 2,500 types of salmonella; the cases under investigation are the same strain; however, the strain is acknowledged to be a common one.

Lou Dobbs is the only one on the major news networks really hammering away on the illegal immigration issue, but I can't recall his ever mentioning their putting our health at risk.

We're all paying the price for their silence.

They bring up a lot of strange outbreaks of things anymore. I guess it is too politically incorrect to make this connection to illegals.

Not until someone they consider important dies from the infection.

Decimal point off. Thanks. I just get infuriated with the MSM trying to scare folks. They live for it.

...and I'm still keeping my lettuce.
