"I'm votin' for Kinky and I hope he wins, just to show the "professional politicians" that we're fed up and somebody better start listening to us."
I'm not fed up with Perry, he's been a great listener (btw, have you ever tried contacting his office or sent him a letter?) ... nor with my Republican Congress Rep, nor with Senator KBH, etc. ...
... but I am fed up with fellow conservatives who have decided to check their brains at the door this election cycle.
Kinky?!? Strayhorn?!?! Bell!?!? Sheeeeesh.
I don't live in Texas so I can't vote for Kinky but I have sent him several small donations and bought his action hero doll.
I live in the same County as Kinky, and I hope his present election bid flops as badly as his previous 2 in this county. He may even get more votes statewide in his gubernatorial run, than in the local offices he ran for-I think he got something like seven votes in one of those previous bids for office.
Yes I have contacted Perry and received a letter from one of his aides........and that's the rub. The letter made me madder than the issue I contacted him for. That's when I decided NOT to vote for him and I stand by my decision.
Thanks BUMP!
I've seen Kinky on several interviews. He KNOW'S he's limited on what he can do as governor......his outrageous "pro" stances are just that.....outrageous with a twist of humor. The border issue is a winner with me as far as Kinky. I'm NOT ignorant......just fed up with politics as ususal and a good wad in some politicians' drawers would suit me just fine. We have friends with small businesses that won't be able to weather this business tax bill....one who happens to own a tobacco shop, is a single lady who's trying to make a decent living and tries to do the right thing. Do you think her customer's will pay that extra 10 bucks a carton of cigarettes or go to the nearest Indidan smoke shop? Call it what you will, but if ever there were a time for a protest vote, this is it and I fully intend to exercise it!
LOL- good post sockmonkey
My new battle cry is:
"Let's keep Kinky in Kerr County...
..............why the hell not?"
If you've seen me whining on the Texas forum, you know I am a PO'd smoker..Since I live just about smack in the middle of the state, I am 6 hours away from the Oklahoma state line. I have been stockpiling my freezer with cigarettes, and just on principal, even if it costs me more money for gasoline, I fully intend to get cigarettes from OK or SC, or anywhere but Texas after January 1, 2006.
OOOPs, January 1, 2007..Got caught up in my anger over the new taxes.
My Hub and I both smoke, so I know what you're talking about. Fortunately we have a couple of Indian smoke shops near us but for my friends' sake, I won't take my business elsewhere. Good luck. :) We used to order directly from Brown and Williamson here in the states and from the United Kingdom several years ago till' the gooberment threatened to investigate for all the lost revenue in taxes, so that took care of that. Just start demanding they outlaw tobacco....ban it....quit messing around and just DO IT, but they won't. They'd rather raise taxes on it, grandstand about the eeeevil's of it and that's as far as they go. Can you imagine the lost revenue? They couldn't take it.....they wouldn't stand for it. Bunch of hypocrites!
Meanwhile Mayor White (in Houston) is using taxpayer funded flu shots to lure out the voters in 4 heavily Democrat precincts.
The fix is in, the Rats want Chrissy Belle to win.
