The republican elites have bought into the idea of a north american superstate.

This saddles the american middle class with unlimited liabilities in exchange for nothing.

The elites, of course live nowhere in particular-- so they have no borders.

But push comes to shove the US elites have bought into the idea that the south american elite life style is ok. ie the proper place for elites is behind high walls.

For the american middle class its a matter of a wall at the southern border or a wall around our neighborhoods.

Doesn't it seem that a wall a the border is more sensible.

"But don’t be fooled: the superhighway proposal is not the result of free market demand, but rather an extension of government-managed trade schemes like NAFTA that benefit politically-connected interests."

Oh, c'mon now. Everyone knows there is a world-wide demand for cheap disposable shoes.

"So we can build this but not a border fence.. :( "

This is exactly WHY we are not securing the border. Most people, IMO, don't stop to question WHY GWB would fail/refuse to secure our country in spite of 9/11 and known terrorists crossing the border.

The SPP/NAU calls for securing the PERIMETER of the continent, not the country and is why the bipartisan Open Borders Lobby must be stopped. Our national security and sovereignty are at stake.

Thanks for the ping jmc. I suppose Ron Paul will now join the FR OBLers' list of hated conspiracy theorists speaking out about this, along with Corsi and Tancredo. They support it and just don't want it discussed.

United States of America. RIP. 1776-200? We won't make it to 2010 as a sovereign nation at this rate.

"This will require coordinated federal and state eminent domain actions on an unprecedented scale, as literally millions of people and businesses could be displaced. The loss of whole communities is almost certain, as planners cannot wind the highway around every quaint town, historic building, or senior citizen apartment for thousands of miles."

They must be stopped.

Ron Paul is one of the hanful of GOP'ers worth supporting. He seems to be again, one of only a handful who actually gives a darn about our Republic.

So then, "we" can build a NEW superhighway south to north thru the U.S. BUT Can't afford to build a mere fence on the Mexican border?..

The propaganda is getting very thick.. ain't it?..

Now there's a ticket. Though I am hoping they are successful in shining a spotlight on this and shutting it down before it gets too far. As long as the OBLers can keep convincing everyone it's nothing but a 'conspiracy', they can continue moving forward fairly undetected. Thankfully, Lou Dobbs, who I normally don't watch, IS talking about it. It's a start, but '08 will be here before we know it and regardless of the outcome of the November elections, the bipartisan OBL must be stopped immediately and a strong fight to oppose 'earned' amnesty must begin.
