That is one lucky dog. Given peta's track record she'd have probably been dead before nightfall, had the witness not called authorities.

"They found a dog alongside a busy highway and picked her up for her own safety," the statement read. "That's what we tell everyone to do when they encounter strays - stop and assist."
So they TAKE OFF THE TRACKING COLLAR to assist?
"The dog's radio tracking collar had been removed and was found near where the women reportedly picked up the animal, Morris added."
Me thinks PETA are dishonest, self serving nut cases up to no good.

PETA issued a statement Thursday saying the two had done nothing wrong.
They go around stealing pets now?

These PETA people and even some local humane society branches where I live tride to sway the outcome of a trial that I was involved in. A kid was charged with cruelty to animals. The Humane Society and PETA wrote letters directly to the judge on the case telling him to send the kid to the juvenile hall until he was 18. Direct contact with the judge is called ex parte communication and is against the rules.
I won the case, the kid got probation. If we had lost I believe we would have had a great civil rights case against these groups for conspiring and attempting to deny my client a fair trial.
They are useful idiots. I do love pets and yes I eat meat.

Yes, they were just trying to rescue the dog. That's why they removed her radio tracking collar and left it on the road.

I suppose they tell everyone to always remove the radio tracking collar first?

Hi All- Not that it impacts the story at all, but I bet you those two liberal PETA hippies were stinkier than the dog. Just my observation of hardcore leftists.

Penn & Teller do a great expose of Peta in their DVD. Turns out the V.P. of Peta is a diabetic. How did a treatment for diabetes come about? You guessed it! Animal testing! LOL!

My brother and I picked up hippie once in a blizzard. We had him get in the back of the pick-up and kept my black lab on the seat between us.

Hunters do indeed turn out their dogs to run, with radio tracking collars.
Those are extremely valuable dogs. Anyone who knows anything about hunting would never pick one up. Anyone who knows anything at all would never pick up a dog with a radio collar.

Hey, that's a lovely bridge - how much you selling it for?
A little too close to San Fran. though, perhaps we can negotiate relocation and transport in the price?

We do not need PETA. We have had the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) around for a long time. The SPCA has a commendable record of achievement. PETA is a leftist communist organization trying to force their version of the world on the rest of us.
