Perhaps if you had purchased Webb’s books and at least read about these types of atrocities, you would not have been so gung ho about blindly following the misguided and malfeasant actions of another man who did not witness firsthand the ugliness of war, George W. Bush.

Webb you are an A$$!!

>>>>>>– Lost Soldiers: “A shirtless man walked toward them along a mud pathway. His muscles were young and hard, but his face was devastated with wrinkles. His eyes were so red that they appeared to be burned by fire. A naked boy ran happily toward him from a little plot of dirt. The man grabbed his young son in his arms, turned him upside down, and put the boy’s penis in his mouth.”

No right to question that? Jim Webb is the NAMBLA candidate!

I was defending Webb, but I can't believe Jarding wrote this!!!

You don’t think this is happening in Iraq?

Hell No.

War is NOT what Webb was writing about. He was writing about corrupt asian cultures. I am pretty damn sure nobody in Iraq is splitting bananas with their sex organs, or giving their sons blow jobs to say "hi there".

that raving liberal George F. Will, “This compelling, fascinating exercise of historical fiction proves, again, that Jim Webb is as fine a novelist as he was a Marine.

Maybe he had his tongue planted firmly in his cheek.

The northern cheek of course. ;^)

My favorite silly leftist argument of all time--if you haven't done X, you can't effect policy judgment on the subject area X involves. 99.9999% of the human race will never go to Antarctica, and even fewer will go to space. Democrats never seem to have problems with policy pronouncements there.

Telling people to shut up is one heck of a way to get their vote.

How patronizing.

And Senator, you would not know this, but, war is demeaning, war is repugnant. People die and get maimed there. Innocent boys and girls are forced into prostitution, and are forced to perform heinous acts there. Jim Webb witnessed it all. And he wrote about it. You don’t think this is happening in Iraq?

Perhaps if you had read Webb’s book, you would not be so quick to take his experiences and attempt to twist them for selfish, personal, political gain. Perhaps if you had purchased Webb’s books and at least read about these types of atrocities, you would not have been so gung ho about blindly following the misguided and malfeasant actions of another man who did not witness firsthand the ugliness of war, George W. Bush.

Am I reading this right? It sounds like he (and by extension: Webb) is accusing Americans of atrocities, not the Iraqis. Where have I heard this before?

HOLY MACACA!

That guy is really mad! Well, I guess freedom of speech is dead in the mind of the leftists.

Oh, nonsense. Everything knows that war is ugly and violent, just as we know that politics is an unseemly grasping at power. That said, Webb's campaign has been throwing mud for months and has no right to complain when they get counter-fire. He should fire the lot of them for not bothering to read his books and see how trashy they are. To be sure, they contain good passages, but he probably couldn't resist throwing in graphic sex to appeal to the paperback publishers.
