Among the excerpts is a scene from the 2002 novel "Lost Soldiers," in which a man embraces his four-year-old son and places the boy's penis in his mouth.

WTF? That's supposed to be "illuminative"? Did Webb witness this as well?

Webb Says His Novels 'Inappropriate' for News Radio

Would be a more accurate statement.

Why isn't Nancy Pelosi (and the democratic party) or the MSM OUTRAGED over this?

Try to imagine what the coverage of this would be if a REPUBLICAN had written a story like that?

The hypocrisy is absolutely shameless.

Webb Says His Novels 'Inappropriate' for News Radio By Nathan Burchfiel CNSNews.com Staff Writer October 27, 2006

(CNSNews.com) - In an interview on Washington Post Radio Friday morning, Jim Webb, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia, said excerpts of his novels are "a little bit inappropriate" to be read on news radio.

"I don't know why you're reading that on WTOP," Webb told host Mark Plotkin. "I think it's a little bit inappropriate."

Geesh! I got it....I got it!

This one could kill all hopes for the Dems if the Republicans use it right. I am sure Rush and Sean will talk about it and once the "everyday" American hears about it, they will be disgusted.

I think we should have a petition for Webb to quit the race. That is the most sickening stuff I have ever read!!

>>>It's not a sexual act," Webb told Plotkin regarding the "Lost Soldiers" excerpt. "I actually saw this happen in a slum in Bangkok when I was there as a journalist." >>>

So because it is accepted in the pedophile capital of the world he concludes that it's not a sexual act?

Maybe not to him. Maybe to him it's close to home.

Wow.

If there's nothing wrong with his books because he's just a journalist trying to illuminate, then why doesn't he want them read on radio? He should be THANKING the great, omnipotent Carl Rove for getting these books out to the public so we ALL can be illuminated by them. I mean, if he obviously thinks they're okay to write then why is he ashamed when people read them?

(These are all rhetorical questions, btw.)

When I read this story on Drudge, I knew that Webb would try to pass off the graphic passages in his books as something other than what they are: pornography. Webb claims he was only trying to be "illuminative" in these books, just telling it like it is. What B.S.

Now he's upset that the Republicans are publicizing this. Too bad. I hope the Republicans get all the mileage they can out of this "October surprise."

Can we get a definition of "places penis into mouth?" /sarc

If they're going to assume the worst and go nuts about "macaca", then Webb's fiction seems fair game to me.

I just saw Norah O'Donnell (man is she hot!) on MSNBC interviewing Tom Daschle, and they were of course discussing the 06' elections. Surprisingly she questioned Daschle whether the Senate race in TN was basically over, and if the excerpts in Webb's book will somehow depress democratic turnout? She appeared very reluctant to discuss these topics, like she was almost ready to cry. Too bad you hot momma!

The books include some graphic sexual passages, as well as frequent uses of a racial slur for blacks and descriptions of Vietnamese women as "monkey-faced."

If this was written by a Republican, the MSM would be going ballistic. What a double standard.

A banana, for crying out loud!

First the Democrats defended same sex coitus, then pedophilia, then bestiality, and now they've moved on to fruits. What's next, vegetables?
