Are you kidding me? For most older people, their homes are their BIGGEST ASSETS, in some case, their only asset. If they get put into a home, why on Earth should I pay for it while their kids get to live in the house. or just sell it and pocket the money, that could have been sold to pay for it. Listen up, we're in a lot of trouble with Medicare and if we don't do something fast, it's going to implode. We are such a selfish society. Selfish, selfish, selfish....
Don't whine about the high cost of healthcare. There's a whole cottage industry DEVOTED to taking older people's assets and putting them into the names of their children. What do you mean intent? Everyone's gonna die...so they just put everything in someone else's name before. EVERYONE knows it, why don't you?
There's nothing wrong with this. Why shouldn't a person spend down all their assets before going to the taxpayers for their support?
Bump this article up - great discussion item for Fred if he gets the nod.
