I live in one of, if not THE, poorest county in New York State. MANY people here have to drive old cars or junkers because they can't afford nice cars. I have no problem with them as long as they're willing to work where they can (usually 'burger king' jobs with no benefits). Have some compassion on the working poor.

When I grew up in Florida, they had state inspection stations for cars. In California, we have bi-annual smog checks. What will the poor do when their "junkers" fail to pass inspection? I suspect that they'll just keep driving them unregistered.

I'm not saying it does. I AM saying there are poor people out there who DO work and they really have a hard time paying for their bills, etc.
