Hey sorry you don't like the truth. Sorry I'm not as warm and fuzzy as normal but the election is close and this is serious. No time for huggy pie kissy face heart on sleeve crap. Truth is truth and what I said is the truth. Conservatives who won't vote Republican are NOT real conservatives, and they're helping libera Democrats get elected. That's reality.

Your post #624 is a keeper.

IMO, the uproar over the nomination was nothing more than a tantrum being thrown by some right wing talkers. They think they are in charge. Never mind the damage to the President, to the sense of fair play that most conservatives honor.

Frankly, it was a disgrace as was the ill informed hysteria over the Dubai Ports Deal.

Shameful ignorance to prove how much power the big mouths have. What a shame!

I agree with you on that, but we were still under the pretense that it wasn't then.

It certainly is out in the open now.

The GOP is the best party that gives America the best chance to survive. There are only three choices; Vote Republican, vote Democrat, or don't vote (which is voting democrat by proxy because historically Democrats benefit from low voter turn out because the silent majority of Americans are mostly conservative). The GOP is where the founding roots of the founders and the Constitution is found, period. The Democrat party is the modern American party of the Socialist ideal. The Republican party is the only choice for America's sirvival as a free soverign nation. I've said it many itmes, I am a Christian first, an American second, and a Conservative Republican third. And what is at stake now is who controls the Congress an that means conservative Americans need to cowboy up to the bar and vote Republican and put their money where their mouths are. If all conservatives really care about the Constitution and what it stands for and conservative values, they'll vote Republican. Period.

Still can't tolerate Levin. His ranting and his vulgarity serve no purpose. Accompanied by his ignorance of the issues makes for turning off the radio.

I agree, and did then as well if I recall correctly...(memory is a fleeting thing these days)....

Probably one of the worst results of this was that GWB became a lame duck with more than three years remaining. It shot to hell the second term agenda, and hurt the party as a whole.

There is a humorous aspect to this...........Here we are, three weeks out from the midterms, and one section of the RNC base (ultraconservative) is saying they are not going to vote to send a message to the RINO's, and the RINO section is saying they are so PO'd at Conservatives that they may not show up either......

All you can say about this is ........LOL......whatta messssss! If any one section win's the argument or both, they both lose!

As long as he is ripping libs, fine. When he turns it on moderate Republicans...that's what a mute button is for.

Not remembering that....He went in the year we went into Iraq and I am pretty sure that he never went on a Bush-bashing rant. Maybe you can find it and post it if you are so sure it happened.

Oh, it happened, and it happened about the time Limbaugh had an op/ed published in The Wall Street Journal.

I and some others (I think Miss Marple and maybe nopardons dna Deb were involved) spent a whole evening fighting with holdonnow (Mark Levin) who came on to FR to defend Rush.

I don't remember the thread title and I'm not going to spend a whole day looking for it just to shore up a point.

You completely missed the point of my original post.

Personally, I - like you - am voting straight ticket R this year, due to the complete insanity of the other party.

That being said, I do understand why conservatives are disillusioned with the GOP. The fact that they have their supposed GOP allies on threads like these heaping them with scorn and invective is, as I originally posted, counterproductive.

By insulting them, I believe you make it more likely they will stay home. That's a shame, because I know what you want is to somehow motivate them to go to the polls.

I appreciate your energy and enthusiasm, but your tactics (and those of others engaging in similar ridicule, including Rush) are sadly going to backfire, IMHO.

This situation is no different than what the majority Democrats had to contend with for decades.

A lot of folks will make up their minds on election day, and I still believe we will at least maintain majority status if not gain a couple of seats.

It all depends on the turnout.

The turnout will be low, by any measure, and it is possible the the Dems will fall short.

Just can't say, which way it will go.

Nobody can. Not even the exit polls.

I'm looking forward to all the excuses the day after the election from the media and the Democrats as to why they lost again. It's the same thing every two years. They always talk big and swear they're going to take power back, thinking they're entitled to it, and then when they lose again, it's always everyone else's fault, never theirs. Congress is the ultimate entitelment program. And like all good liberal Democrats, they think they're entitled to run Congress.

Texas is a really great state to live in. Currently, we have radical liberal Democrat Chris Bell running for the trifecta loss of political office. He lost his seat as U.S. Congressman. Then he lost in his run for U.S. Senate. Now he will lose running for Governor. He's even begged kook fringe "Jessie Ventura" type candidate Kinky friedman to drop out because Bell knows he's going down in flames and Republican turncoat, also a former Democrat, Strayhorn, isn't doing good enough to hurt Perry. Everytime a group of people won't pick Strayhorn, the old broad goes and leaves the party. She has no respect for majority rule or the will of the people. The people of Texas made their choice in keeping Perry as the GOP candidate for Governor, and she didn't like that so she went and left the party. Good riddence. I'm glad she's gone.
