No I will not go back in forth with you, to me it is obvious they sold her out and to you its not.
Lets hope for the best.
You can't "go back and forth" with someone who dodges a question. It's really quite simple, but I can understand why you won't answer it.
Not surprising to anyone who has followed the Harris campaign, but still very disappointing.
Whatever best of luck anywhere
>>Gotta give Harris credit for not giving up. She's a tough lady<<
I admire her fortitude and persistence - - but stubborness is no virtue !
>>I'm presuming that you mean we'll be stuck with Nelson. And you're right - it's a shame. But the person to blame is Harris for running a lousy campaign and for breaking her promise.
You keep repeating that they haven't "supported" her, but you fail to answer the very simple question:
How is it Jeb's fault (or the fault of the FL GOP) that Harris has broken the promise she made to the primary voters?
<<
She made that promise in March, ofcourse she is not going to spend all of her money all at once !
Beyond that, it is Jeb's and the GOP's fault - -
If they were not going to support her from the beginning because they thought she was a weak candidate, then why didn't they push forward a better candidate themselves ?
Better still, why didn't Jeb 'through his hat into the race' for Bill Nelson's Senate seat ?
Jeb doesn't want to waste his time in the Senate.
Although he won't say it, I think he wants to run for President in 2012.
>>Jeb doesn't want to waste his time in the Senate.

Maybe so, but he can't run for another term of Governorship of Florida anyway .
Would not the senate be a step up ?
What is he going to do from 2007 and 2012 ?
I will be 8 and the money I would send the gop will go to her,Thanks
I have yet to see any substantial support for Harris from the Republican Party (cash) or from leading Republicans such as Jeb Bush, George W., or Senators. They have been more supportive of Chaffee the RI Rino than Harris. Time to register as an Independent.

Interesting.
We're less than three weeks away. She's trailing in the polls, and she's also coming up against deadlines for producing commercials and buying airtime.
When exactly do you think she plans to spend the remaining $6 million she promised - after the election?
If she is going to put that $6M in, why does she need to sell her house? Why make such a big deal about raising $800,000 when she already has over $5,000,000 already on hand, just waiting to be spent?
That's absurd.

They tried, but who would want to go up against a candidate with name recognition and a guaranteed $10M war chest? That pledge to spend her own money was a major factor in her slim primary victory, in part because it discouraged other candidates from running.
For all the shots of "She won the primary!" from Harris supporters, it is becoming clear that she won it under false pretenses. Many Republicans had concerns about her electibility in the general election, and to counter those concerns she promised to sink $10M of her personal fortune into the race, guaranteeing that she would be competitive.
Had she not made that promise, it is unlikely that she could have won the primary (heck, she barely won it with the promise).
It just burns me up, because this was a weak incumbent Dim. This seat was in play. But because Harris refused to be a team player, because she put her ego and her ambition above the good of the party, we won't win this seat.
It's the party going in the wrong direction, and they have to be brought in line. That's why Jeffords, DeWine and maybe Santorum are going to lose. Fine by me! We are just as strong with a 52 48 majority as with a 55 45 majority.
We have cull our Rinos despite Rove's tactics of dictating to the voters of Florida and Pennsylvania.
As for Harris. She the best candidate Florida had and she proved it in the primaries. Shame on Freepers bringing up all the mute points printed in the tabloids. Her opponents are spending an extraordinary effort in her defeat.
But, her upcoming debates with Nelson, including the one on Tim Russerts show, may well sink the Democrats efforts to defeat her.
The real show is just coming up.

Hold on there !
She made that promise in March of 2006,
Jeb should have thrown his hat in back in the Summer or Fall of 2005 .
Or they should have drafted someone like Tommy Franks to run for Nelson's seat .
I left a message on Tommy's site asking him why he wasn't running for office(not just specifically Florida),
I do not believe he ever came back with an answer(This was sven months ago) .
Ret General Tommy Franks is a afraid of Katherine Harris ?

Hoepfully so, for this is the last chance for Katherine to turn this race around in her favor !
As for Harris. She the best candidate Florida had and she proved it in the primaries.
It's looking more and more like her primary win came under false pretenses.
She pledged $10M of her own money to counter criticism that she was "unelectable." That was the guarantee she offered Florida primary voters, that she was so committed to winning that she would put up her entire inheritance.
She has apparently reneged on that promise, since it's almost too late for the missing $6,000,000 to do any good. So let's not tout her primary win, shall we?

Now hold on there!
Are you under the impression that the primary is some sort of "first come, first served"? Why else must someone declare early?
Your spin can't avoid two painful facts:
Why not?
She has apparently reneged on that promise..
You cry baby losers, you jump from one mute point to another. Why not focus on the issues?
The media can't discuss the issues and win, so a lot of bashing innuendos are jamming where the candidates stand. With the debates this will change. Any other GOP canidates are blah and would lose bigtime.
Kathy will make it a lot closer and IMO even win. I repeat, Florida is a Red state, Kathy is on the right side of the issues, she has a fine record in office, energetic, and a lady to boot. The Republicans in Florida are not going to suddenly change and turn on Kathy, despite the obvious ill ink against her.
"So let's not tout her primary win, shall we?"
Why not?
Because it sure looks like that win came under false pretenses.
Usually a candidate waits until she is elected before breaking campaign promises.
You cry baby losers, you jump from one mute point to another. Why not focus on the issues?
I believe the word you're grasping for is "moot." And the trustworthiness of a candidate is never moot. It goes straight to character, which always matters.
I have discussed the issues on other threads. The subject of this thread is the fianancial strength of the Harris campaign.
That means the question ought to be: why do you want to change the subject? Never mind, you needn't answer, it's strictly rhetorical.
Where? Better still, repost your comparison of Nelson and Harris on the issues on balance.
