I can understand and agree with what you have posted. Back in the 70's I had a quarter horse in a stable along with my friends horse. She left her horse out in the pasture with a few horses at night. I didn't like my horse left out so she was stabled at night. One night the horse thieves hit that pasture. The horses were stolen to be slaughtered for horse meat for France. It took awhile for us to find out what happened to her horse. I wish we hadn't. Quite a few stables were hit around that time too. This was in NJ where we never figured horse thieves would steal horses for meat.

One is a Woman with a capital W. The other is gender questionable.

It is less about people starving than horses starving.

Who will care for the hundreds of thousands of horses that are unwanted for the rest of their three decades of life???
Time after time the people who "rescue" horses only leave them to starve after a few years when the project gets too expensive. Far better to let the horses serve a useful purpose - - as food for humans or pets.

This is ridiculous. Horses were eaten like any ordinary game animal for tens of thousands of years before other uses were found for them.

Bo Derek's eating preferences are definitely pedestrian and should not be imposed on other people.

That's okay. If you were to eat dog, you'd probably still be eating horse anyway. The less horsemeat there is for Europeans, means more for dog food here.

Why does anyone think the market for dead horse is going away just because we will not let Europeans have it?

Like my Grammy used to tell me, never is a long time.

If it got down to the point of eating or not, I would sacrifice Fido for my children and grandchildren.

Sounds better than the mustard sandwiches my Dad used to tell me about at Cobb Crick Park during during the Depression

In God We Trust....Semper Fi

My state of texas has been trying to get the 2 slaughter houses here out, but the fed keeps them here. they pollute and throw waste in the rivers and the people who live around these plants are disgusted with them. Dallas Crown, which is in Kaufmann, is a nasty facility where you can look through the fence and see the process of the horses getting the bolt gun. According to the mayor of the town, people are moving away because of this practice. They dont take the old and infirm horses like they take the good ones. They cant sell old meat to Europe. No one will eat it. Europe and other countries can eat what they want, we dont have to supply them with it. Europe needs to stop being hipocrites and allow slaugher in their own country, then they can eat all their famous horses themselves.
