Hen duay yaang maak! :)
Where are all the residents of Thailand from other threads who swear it is a GOOD thing a Muslim violently overthrew the government??
Deliberate ignorance is sad to witness.
It was a good thing that Taksin was overthrown.
Happy?
You may need to get out more and experience a few more coups before you call that... ;oP
>>>Violently ?
You may need to get out more and experience a few more coups before you call that... ;oP>>>
Well, I suppose compared to other coups, it was slightly less bloody.
But I don't know a coup that is a peaceful happy process.
Bomb them back to the Stone Age before it is too late!
WTF are you tlking about?
I was wondering the same thing.
*Sigh*
This one was. I think about 95% of Thailand has a family picture taken in front of a soldier during the coup.
Thats gotta be sarcasm.

This thread is way funny. If Thailand did develop a nuclear power program, how could that possibly be bad? If Thailand was such great friends with Iran, as at least one misguided fool on here has stated, the price of oil wouldn't be one of the most important political issues in the country.
Another poster said it could be sarcasm. I usually have a pretty good detector, but that comment broke it.
You could be right. I have a pretty good detector. That comment blew me away.
It's getting to where I can hardly read Thai anymore, not that I was ever good at it. Starts out "All of us..." or "Everyone of us..."
If they would just put spaces between the words and stop wrapping the vowels around the consanants, it would be whole lot easier to read.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
Maybe the middle part is "goodness and understanding..." You know, "quam dee laa quam kow jai..."
I've know a few people who picked up the language very well, and in a relatively short time (not me). One of my Peace Corps buddies called me up years later and spoofed me, speaking Thai a mile minute. I thought it was one of my relatives or some such thing. He was just inviting us to a reunion in Thailand.
Nonetheless, I can use simple Thai to discuss rather esoteric matters. Or tease the ladies. That is the beauty of the language.
