Oops, didn't finish my thought.
"Can you imagine us treating the Soviets the way we treat the Red Chinese?" I for one don't think the commies in power are going to be stepping down anytime soon the way we've been treating them.
It's irrelevant about whatever actions they take in regards to NK, although they'd be smart to play it our way unless they want to fact Japan again down the road. I don't think they would.
I agree, I wish we'd pay Taiwan more respect, but that isn't forthcoming.
It's an unneeded distraction. And the more I think about it, the more I think it's Tancredo just trying to get his name in the news for whatever reason.
We don't need the distraction right now. he isn't helping anyone by himself. He does not strengthen our position, nor does he help us maintain the upper hand we have here.
Taiwan will be abandoned, that's what the one China policy is about. The Taiwanese have no right to determine their own future. As do, for example, Afghanis. Or Iraqis. Or even peaceful palestinians. If Taiwanese would start suicide bombing restaurants and attack US installations, they'd get some respect.
Taiwan could well be part of the price for Chinese co-operation
