Gerry E. Studds, who championed environmental, maritime, and fisheries issues during 24 years in the US House of Representatives and lent an eloquent voice to health and human rights matters, died early yesterday.

Oh yeah and also sodomized a 17 year old Congressional Page.

"`Mark Foley's leadership changed the state forever and we'll never forget him," US Senator Edward M. Kennedy said in a statement. ``

Oh wait, it's Gerry Studds, who unlike Foley was known to have had sex with an underage page."

Hypocrisy, thy name is TEDDY.

"Massachusetts today is about as disgusting a place as any in the world.

Ever lived here?
If not, that's a bold statement.

Definitely over-reaching. I lived there for a year. Nice trees. Boston Pops was pleasant. But I got hit on by gays more times in that one year than the rest of my life combined. Plus the only time I went to Fenway, they sold me seats behind the post. She could see the Yanks' pitcher (Catfish Hunter!!), I could see the batter. Different.

That was 31 years ago. I've never gone back, even to visit. Surely not one of the "most disgusting places on earth", but then, not on my "do again" list, either.

Is Nancy Pelosi going to the funeral?

"So, is the Phelps gang going to protest his funeral? (Fat chance)"

If I didn't have a son in Iraq right now I'd be rolling on the floor. As it is, I'm sitting here gritting my teeth with a slight grin, thinking about how many forms hypocrisy takes.

Let's not forget his main contribution...he set the standard for phucking boys in Congress. Foley is a wannabe compared to Studds.

Who's electing all those RATs?

The population inside of Rt. 128. The population density is such that inside the 'loop' we have an almost 100% Rat population in Boston and the burgs surrounding it.
The population density outside the 'loop'...even if it was all Republican...wouldn't mean a wet slap:

What stuns me is that you actually have a Republican governor.

It's my theory that it is a Rat slap at the rest of us that they vote for a Republican for Governor...knowing full well that a completely Democrat Legislature will effectively neuter such an elected candidate. Works every time.
Except now, they have a Clinton butt-boy named Deval Patrick who is so ultra Liberal it makes my skin crawl. They will put him in office and our journey to the Dark Side will be complete.
The State House in Boston is infested with the worst types of tin-plated, swaggering little dictators.
They should change the name from Beacon Hill to Mos Eisley....
"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany."

I lived there for a year.

From your description, it sounds as if you lived in Boston for a year.
That's not what I was talking about. Boston is in Massachusetts but Boston is not Massachusetts.
Just as San Francisco is not California.

I live 25 miles away and haven't been into Boston in 10 years. That is a deliberate decision.

RIP. Although he did not lead a very christian life, I cannot lower myself to his standards and bash him. As a Conservative and Catholic, I hope that he was able to somehow get in some true sorrow for the bad he did. Nobody is perfect, but most learn from there errors and pray to God to be a better human being. I don't know if he did that or not...only God knows.

"Do you know what he died from?"

I read that it was a pulmonary blood clot caused by vascular disease.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your son. We have a niece who was over there early on and that was tension enough for us.
