I was joking about the drug stocks, but after thinking about it, it might be a good time to invest in some good picks there.
After the RATS lost in 04 it was all over the news about liberals going to shrinks.

They will beyound just a simple Prozac rx. They will need Prozac, a minor tranquilizer and a major one for their breaks with reality.

"Dow Still Lower Than Anaylsts Would Like".
The Bush administration has failed to get the Dow to levels it was on track to reach shortly before George W. took office. "Clearly the resources we have devoted to Iraq have been hurting this market not to mention the drag stocks are feeling from the uncertainty of war" said Sneidriek Voomfrondle lead market analyst for XYZ Brokerage in NYC.
????? Did I come close ?????

No, no, no. The record occurred under Clinton. Everyone knows that. Everyone is supposed to believe that.

Oh, ol' Sneidriek work for XYZ now, eh? I wondered what happened to him.
"Seriously," your post reflects the tone of how some of the media, such a ABC News. will somberly report this. One thing one has to put up with when listening to KSFO in the SF Bay Area is the rotten ABC Radio newscasts. When the Dow is up by 120 points, the line is "On Wall Street, stocks are up on expectations of xxx." When the Dow is down by 65 points the next day, it's "On Wall Street, stocks are trading sharply lower." Subtle, but not accidental.

Well if this market keeps going it will cause me to vote for W again in '08 too ;-)

And important to note that THIS time--unlike during the Clinton Smoke-and-Mirrors Bubble--stocks are not outrageously overpriced.
When The Dow was up over 11,000 in late 1999 and early 2000, the Price/Earnings ratio on the Dow was close to 40--that is, stocks were trading at multiples of 40 times their earnings. That is WAY above the long-term, historical stock market average P/E of 15. We all remember some of the dot-bomb stocks that were trading at 400 P/E. The market was nuts back then, and clearly unsustainable.
The Dow right now is a bit overvalued, the P/E ratio is about 23 the last I checked. But nowhere near the hyped-up prices we saw in the Bubba Bubble.
This is the result of REAL growth, real productivity increases, and real value. This is a healthy market. Don't let the doom-and-gloomers get away with saying it's all going to come crashing down.

And important to note that THIS time--unlike during the Clinton Smoke-and-Mirrors Bubble--stocks are not outrageously overpriced. You really believe this? Even with a new CEO or company being investigated or fined every day for overstating or hiding their true earnings? All these companies do is pay a small fine (to them) and go on doing the exact same thing. I would really like to believe that the markets are not overvalued, but I find it vary hard to be convinced.
