Vote NO on Prop. 87 -- but I guess you figured that out already, if Al Gore is FOR it, you know it's a terrible idea.
I just saw this ad run - and nearly lost my dinner.
"Prop. 87 aims to reduce the state's petroleum usage by 25 percent over 10 years. By taxing big oil companies, Prop. 87 would raise $4 billion to encourage the development of alternative fuels and technology over the next decade."
===
Back to the horse and buggy days for CA. That would make Al Gore happy.
The new bulimic diet: Gorge, Gore, Gak!
When gas reaches $9.00 a gallon the libs will scream that it is Bush's fault!!!
I expect Occidental Oil stockholder Big Al to rush to the California State Franchise Tax Board and empty his bank account in the name of ecological justice.
I found an article in SF Chronicle about this:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/detail?blogid=14&entry_id=9650
And they give the link to youtube, where you can watch the ad. Al Gore looks awful

(if the youtube link doesn't work directly, go to the link above it and go to it from the article)
And who wants to bet that the next time they undergo a state-wide energy crisis, it'll be Enron's fault again.

The socialists in California just cannot hide their rabid lust to tax everyone and everything to death, regardless of the impact...its all about power and control, GOVERNMENT CONTROL, as all socialists live for.
Prop 87 is an egregious taxation idea, especially in our state which is already one of the most heavily taxed in the nation. But the libs dont care -- they will take everything you have, and every corporation has, if it means power for them.
Karl Marx is cheering them --- as usual.
What a dope. Wait until CA taxpayers get saddled with the higher prices, and algore will be back in Tennessee paying for gas without the high tax he championed in CA. He is on the updated list of dopes. This list consists of such luminaries as Madeline Albright, Alec Baldwin, Chris Collinsworth and Claire McCaskill..
No need to google... there are already two articles on the same subject posted to FR in the last 3 hours.
I know you like to have your own threads and all, but...
They have completely different titles.
If they want to "soak the rich" why not tax Hollywood entertainers who are NOT paying their fair share?
I read about some legislation that passed nearly a decade ago to specially tax people who "worked at home" (including software programmers) but it exempted Hollywood screenwriters (who may get $100,000-1,000,000 on a script).
They're just like everybody else. Make THEM cough up.
Prop 87 is going DOWN! Gore shows what an idiot he is by tying himself to it.
Why aren't the enviro-whackos targeting Indian and Chinese use of oil? They are emerging markets and should be able to transition to other fuels easier.
Also I doubt that China and India have the same emissions regulations that we have in America so that gas they are burning is polluting more.
Stuff it, Al.

I would put Gore on the same plane as Carter and Kerry when it comes to intelligence and politics. All stupid, all damaging to America, all liars, all idiots and dolts.
Welcome to the Dem's finest....(and the list goes on)
Yup, the Big Oil Trust Fund Baby spews hypocrisy out of his mouth once again.

YOU are MISREPRESENTING THE PROPOSITIONS AGAIN.
You say "Proposition 1A: NO Allows future borrowing. Delays existing debt payment."
When in fact it says to spend gas taxes on the roads, even McClintock URGES YES ON Prop. 1A.
Here is what he says:
Prop. 1A Transportation Funding Protection: YES! For years, the Legislature has raided our highway taxes for general fund spending. Though its more window dressing than relief, this measure makes it marginally harder to do so.
Tom McClintock's recommendations on the Propositions:

YOU ARE ALSO URGING PEOPLE TO VOTE NO ON JESSICA'S LAW: Prop. 83, that conservatives endorse ( see Tom McC's recommendations at link above).
YOU ARE NO CONSERVATIVE, while you are pretending to give "conservative recommendations". In addition to not being a conservative, you are supporting pedophiles, by urging a NO vote on Prop. 83.
