Still doesn't take much to get you killed in Russia.
Murders like this are of course to get rid of the maverick journalist, but more than anything to send a message to the ENTIRE Soviet Press not to make waves
against Putin. I await Putin's "reaction" to it.
I won't shed a tear or lose any sleep over this woman's death.
Also I am very disappointed in Putin. He should have leveled a few chechnyan cities by now.
Leave the gun - take the Cannoli. Peter Clemenza
leaving the gun at the scene, with no mention of robbery, sends a pretty clear message, whether it is the intended message or not.
What I'll never understand is how American media lefties don't see this in their future if they and thier fellow-traveling Democrats ever get their way and turn this country into a globalist Utopian collective.
Their would be no room for press criticism of any kind, and meddlesome and disrespectful "journalists" just might be invited to meet Mister Kalashnikov.
Just for fun, compare and contrast how Presidents Bush (the elder and younger) and Reagan showed respect and cordiality to their strident and hysterical critics;
and, how left-wing acolytes Hillary Rodham (and her alleged husband), John Kerry, and Al Gore just bristle and erupt whenever confronted with diverging opinions and incisive interrogatives.
Left-wing, fifth column, Stalinists, Greens, and/or Democrats...all feel that anyone with contrary opinions is an enemy.
