The Copts are the original Christian denomination of Egypt, from which the word "Egypt" derives BTW. I'm not all that familiar with it, but priests are not celibate, monastacism is popular, and Mary figures prominently in the theology.

I'm sure Father Zakaria doesn't carry artillery, so I hope he has a Swiss guard protecting him. Ya'all know about the "religion of peace."

Here's some more information on
Fr. Boutros. According to this, his brother, who also preached about Jesus, was murdered years ago by the Muslim Brotherhood; and some of the Coptic people in Egypt are getting very nervous about priests getting more outspoken.

There are the "hadith" sources, accepted Islamic lore that do not have the status of Quranic revelation, but are generally accepted as credible and authoritative by Muslims. That's where the references to women and perfume come from. One hadith quotes Muhammad's wife on this score.
For a specific link, try searching "hadith, Muhammad, women, perfumes" and you'll find plenty of them.

James came to faith in Jesus Christ watching Father Zakaria. His wife soon followed.
These are the only kind of Mideasterners we should allow to immigrate to this country. It's time to cut of Islamic immigration as being fundamentally and inalterably incompatible with Western democracy and freedom.

We are in a new era of Christian martyrdom that is already in full swing in Africa, Asia, etc. and nobody paid much attention.
There is a shameful silence by the churches of the West over the fate of Christian martyrs at the hands of Muslims. The worldliness and will to entertain themselves instead of concentrating to relieve the suffering of saints in foreign lands will not be forgotten by God on the day of judgment.
Please consider starting a bumplist for Christian martyrs if we don't have one yet. I'd like to be on it.
I recall being somewhat shocked in my Baptist church when a lady spoke up about the plight of some persecuted Christians in the Mideast last year. Other than me, no one seemed remotely interested. A sad indication of the state of America's churches. Even more shameful are those denominations which wish to 'dialog' with Muslims, ecumenize with them, or side against Israel and align themselves with the Pali terror state.

I have heard him on Paltalk. He is much loved there. And hated, by the Muslims.

I added this thread to the Keyword list for
ArabChristians, FR's keyword list on Christians in the Mideast. Of the most interesting articles there are those on Arab in America. 80% of them are Christian (Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant). And of the American Muslim population, only 25% are Muslim. There is some other great info there, like the Arab Christian channel which broadcasts in the United States.
I'd also recommend books and the debates of Anis Shorrosh, an Arab Baptist, who presents a very strong defense of Christian teachings against Islamic scholars in many public debates. His defense of the divinity of Christ and the Koran as the word of God are thoroughly Christian but non-denominational in outlook.
Shorrosh' website:
Truth In Crisis - Focusing On Islam
Two debates of Shorrosh vs. Muslim scholars you can watch for free can be found here:
Islamcity.com: Shorrosh debates (each is over 3 hours long)
corrections: "And of the American Muslim population, only 25% are Muslim Arab.
"His defense of the divinity of Christ and rejection of the Koran as the Word of God are thoroughly Christian but non-denominational in theology."

This Priest is a great and courageous man. May God grant him the courage (and the safety) to continue his work.

You're so right. The western churches seem to fit the description of the rich church in Revelation, the church that says to itself that it is "rich and increased in goods and have need of nothing", and does not know that it is poor and lame and halt and blind in spiritual riches that really count. Rich in "programs" and "mega-church worship centers" with lots of entertainment. Deep in debt in many instances spending huge sums of money on frivolities and educational materials while Christians in other countries are martyred or freeze and starve without their most basic needs being met - even for Bibles in their own languages. I'm personally sick of it.

He is a Coptic Catholic priest. Actually, Fr. Zakaria Boutros is Coptic Orthodox.
Two Coptic Orthodox priests, Fr. Zakaria Boutros and Fr. Bishoy Yassa, were imprisoned and expelled from Egypt in June 1991 because they had baptized converts from Islam to Christianity in Cairo. Prior to their expulsion the priests were held in a maximum security prison. The Egyptian government pressed the Orthodox hierarchy to reassign the two priests to churches outside Egypt. Frs. Boutros and Yassa were taken to the airport in handcuffs before being sent to Australia.

I thought so. It seems to me one of our parishioners, a doctor from Egypt, mentioned this fellow and his show and was quite proud that the priest was Coptic Orthodox. Apparently he is quite well known.

Thanks for all those links! As a Roman Catholic practicing my faith in a Maronite Catholic Church, I am drawn to the sufferings of all christians in the Middle East. There is simply not enough attention given to this in the western msm.
